[Question #13820] HIV ARS?

8 days ago I DEEP FRENCH KISSED a girl three times on a date. I do not know her HIV status.
We did not have sex or oral sex. We also did not touch each other’s genitals.
Yesterday I went to the beach. I often get ‘jock itch’ from the netting in my swim shorts. Yesterday was no different - I ended the day with a painful rash on each side of my genitals and in my groin.
However, after showering, I noticed 3 small red spots on the shaft of my penis. One has a yellow head. They do not itch, but of course this has worried me.
I visited my Doctor this morning and she says this is a spread of the ‘jock itch’ due to excessive sweating and heat. I have been advised to use an anti-fungal cream on my penis for the next 7 days.
HIV is my main worry as my residency visa is up for renewal next month. She says that French kissing is zero risk for HIV; and there must be (1) unprotected penetrative vagina / rectum sex or (2) injection of blood deep into the bloodstream with needles.
As STI Doctors, please can you confirm that this is not HIV and I can be worry free in that regard?
Thank you for your time.

Welcome to our forum. Thanks for your confidence in our service. I’m glad to confirm the information that you have already received. There is no risk for HIV or other STI‘s from deep, French kissing, no matter how long you were kissing . I would add to this, but it is unlikely that the girl you were kissing HIV
The rash that you experienced is unrelated to the encounter you described above. Please don’t worry. There is no reason for testing or any concern. EWH.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your Sunday to answer, Doctor Hook.
So you (and Doctor Handsfield) agree that there is never a risk of HIV until one has unprotected intercourse with a potentially risky partner and/or shares needles with them?
The red spots on my penis are nothing to worry about regarding HIV or other STI’s from the deep French kissing, even if this girl happened to be HIV positive?
And deep French kissing is simply an activity never to worry about for HIV and I will have a negative HIV test when my residency medical is due?
In short: I am absolutely in the clear?
Thank you again.

Correct. This was zero risk.
The red spots on your penis are certainly unrelated to the French kissing you describe. You should look for another, unrelated, non- STI cause.
You are in the clear. EWH
