Hi Dr Handsfield, I unfortunately am locked out of my account regarding question 13825, so purchased a new question to reply to your response from last evening. Appreciate if you could reply here. Understand your auto inoculation point. My concern was more around given 22 months after the event I resumed performing oral sex on my wife again, could I have put her at risk and infected her then infected myself genitally as a result?

Your other thread had a slightly different spelling of your name and a different username; that probably explains your "locked out" problem.
These questions were directly answered in the other thread, where I wrote:
"oral infection with both these STIs is cleared spontaneously within 2-6 weeks; no cases have ever been known to last anywhere near 22 months""the answer to your question about self transfer to your penis (technical term auto-inoculation) is no; this is never known to occur"Therefore "your wife definitely is not at risk of any STI from you on account of the event nearly two years ago."
What about these statements do you not understand? (Is there maybe a translation problem if English is not your primary language?)

I believe I misspoke on my auto inoculation comment so apologies if that led to confusion . I understand that if you are infected in one area it can’t travel to another if that other are hasn’t been exposed . What meant to say was given I just resumed performing oral sex on my wife (22 months after the event), could I have put her at risk and infected her then infected myself genitally as a result.
Sounds like based on your previous response it would be no but just wanted to clarify what my intended question was. Apologies for the confusion as autoinculation was never intended in my original post.

"Is my wife at risk?" Third boldface reply. No.
"Could I have infected her by performing oral sex on her 22 months after the event and then infected myself genitally by having sex with her?" Absolutely not.
Your symptoms sound like anxiety making you aware of normal body sensations you wouldn't even notice except for your frankly irrational anxiety. But see a doctor if the symptoms continue.
