[Question #13833] HIV and HCV risks

I had a bdsm session in Hungary, with one lady and one trans. Two things are bothering me: the TS fingered me with gloves. I am unsure if they put a bare penis into my anus. They said no. Even if they did, it was very brief (just once). They say they get tested regularly and that everything is fine. This is my HIV concern. When it comes to HCV, they used some spiked wheels on my nipples, and there were some bleeding scratches afrerwards. They sprayed alcohol on the device before my my eyes, but i am still worried. They also say they take a special care on hygiene, because they have families. How you doctors see this event?

Welcome to the Forum.  I’ll be glad to comment.

First, remember that your partners assured you that they had been tested regularly and witnessed them taking precautions such as condom used and cleaning the spiked sex toy used in your encounter.  Most people tell the truth- I would believe them.  Second, recipes of rectal masturbation, gloved or not, is a no risk activity for STIs, including HIV.

In this situation, my inclination would be to not worry and move forward.  If you need further reassurance, you could get a rectal swab test for gonorrhea and chlamydia any time more than 3-5 days following your encounter.  The results would be conclusive.  Blood tests for hepatitis, HIV, and syphilis will not provide conclusive results until 6 or more weeks following the encounter.  Personally. I would not be concerned and would not bother to test. EWH

Thanks so much for such a prompt response. Just one more question, as mentioned earlier, I am unsure if they put a bare penis into my anus. They said no. Even if they did, it was very brief (just once). Does that change your opinion?

I would believe them.  There is no reason to lie.

In a bare penis of a person with HIV or hepatitis C was inserted into your rectum you would be at low risk for HIV ( less than 1%) and far lower risk for hepatitis C.

I think you are worrying too much.  EWH
