[Question #13875] Ozempic and Truvada PrEP

Hi, I’m on daily generic Truvada since a few months for PrEP. I am a male had an encounter with another male where he topped me (I got receptive anal) unprotected, he did not ejaculate in me but there was pre-cum and I had some tearing with minute blood.
I know Truvada protects me. But I am also on Ozempic 0.5mg injectable for weight loss since 3 months. I have read that since this medication can delay gastric emptying it might affect some medications. I can’t see anything online about Truvada, but I am worried. Sometimes I can taste the Truvada in my mouth even 3-4 hours after taking it.
Do you see any concern here in terms of HIV?

Welcome back to the Forum. On this occasion I’ll be responding. Your question about Ozempic are good ones and I can assure you that the delayed gastric emptying which it causes do not reduce the effectiveness of daily PrEP. I see no reason for concern about the effectiveness of your PrEP. Please don’t worry. EWH---
