[Question #13890] Worried - HIV

Last month I matched with a Middle Eastern girl (30) on a dating app and we went out just the once. I have since found out via friends and business associates that this lady is known around town for getting guys to pay for everything (including trips away, expensive gifts etc.). She tried this stunt with me. It is believed that she is an escort and rewards men with sex when they cave to her demands.

This had me panicked as on the date we ended up DEEP FRENCH KISSING for a up to 5 minutes throughout the night. However, there was NO PENETRATIVE SEX OR ORAL SEX.

I have spoken with my local STI clinic and they have said that there is no risk at all for HIV from Deep French Kissing and no need to test until there is unprotected penetrative intercourse or oral sex.

Please can you help me? Am I in the clear with HIV?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Welcome to our Forum.  Thanks for your questions.  I'll be glad to provide some information.  You are correct that there are no known cases of HIV acquired as a result of French kissing.  That is the case no matter how long the kissing has taken place for and no matter whether the partner has dental or gum problems or mouth sores- still no known risk.  I agree the even if your partner had HIV (which is statistically very unlikely, even if she is an escort, there is still no known risk and no need for testing.

I hope that this information is helpful.  Please don't worry.  EWH

Dear Doctor Hook

Thank you for such a speedy reply.

My residence visa for my job in Kuwait is up for renewal next month, which involves an HIV blood test.
My result will be all clear?

Your advice is that I now move on without any HIV worries (aka. all is well)?

Thank you again for your expertise.

This is a repetitive question.  Repeating the question will not change the answer.  Please re-read my original response- if your test was negative in the past, it will not change because of the encounter you have described.  EWH---
