[Question #13978] Steroid Shot

Jan 11th I received a blow job. The girl was originally from India. I had multiple hiv tests. I have been tested week 6 to week 13. All negative.
This week I had a small bump at the bottom of my neck. I actually noticed it several weeks ago but I forgot about it. I went to the dermatologist the next day.. I was scared. She said it probably was a cyst. I asked if it could be a swollen gland or lymph node. She said she didn’t think so.
She gave me a steroid shot right in the bump. Now the bump is gone.
Two days after the shot I took a rapid duo test 101 days after risk. The result was negative.
1. Would the steroid shot given into the cyst affect my test taken two days afterwards?
2. If it was instead a swollen gland or lymph node where I received the steroid shot would that affect my test taken two days latter?
3. Have I ruled out hiv 2?
4. Can I now sleep with my partner unprotected?
5. Have a ruled out the bump being Ars by having a negative result after noticing the bump for a 2nd time?

Question 5 had a typo. Here is the corrected question:
Have i ruled out the bump being Ars by having a negative result after noticing the bump for a 2nd time? The test was taken two days after noticing the bump for the 2nd time.

Welcome back to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. The encounter you describe was a no risk event for STIs including HIV. Even with a sore in your mouth. in the unlikely event that your partner had HIV, the presence of a sore would not put you at risk. You have tested far more than is needed and any tests taken more than 6 weeks after your encounter are conclusive, proving that you did not acquire HIV. In response to your specific questions:
1. Would the steroid shot given into the cyst affect my test taken two days afterwards?
Absolutely not.
2. If it was instead a swollen gland or lymph node where I received the steroid shot would that affect my test taken two days latter?
No
3. Have I ruled out hiv 2?
Yes
4. Can I now sleep with my partner unprotected?
Yes
5. Have a ruled out the bump being Ars by having a negative result after noticing the bump for a 2nd time?
Yes. When a person experiences the ARS tests are ALWAYS positive and remain positive thereafter.
You are in the clear. There is certainly no medical or scientific reason for further testing. I encourage you to move forward without concern. EWH

Dr. I did not have a sore in my mouth. I am not sure what you meant. Please advise. I received oral from a female. I am male.

I apologize. I got confused in my response. That said, there is absolutely no risk for HIV of any sort from receiving oral sex, even in the unlikely circumstance that your partner HIV. EWH.---
