[Question #13991] Massage

Got a massage at a place that does do happy endings. I got cupping done on my back before the massage. After the massage, I noticed small blistering on part of my back that was cupped. Just want to confirm no risk of std or hiv here, I don’t have any reason to believe she would have blood on her hands but just a bit worried and didn’t realise till afterwards.

Welcome back. Thank you for your continued confidence in our services.

There is no known increased HIV or other STD risk from exposure of "cupped" skin, and no theoretical reason to suppose it is possible. Hand contact with skin anywhere on the body is zero risk, even if genital fluids, saliva, etc are used for lubrication (and that includes hand-genital contact, fingering, etc). Several of your questions have asked about exposures along these lines, with consistent replies, mostly (by chance) from Dr. Hook. You can safely assume our replies would be the same for any similar exposures in the future:  without unprotected intercourse (condomless penis in a partner's vagina, rectum or (rarely) mouth, you can safely assume no risk for HIV or other STDs.

I would not advise testing at this time. No worries at all!

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Many thanks, and this includes if for example my back had slightly broken skin on my back which let’s say in worse case scenario was slightly bleeding (I’m not sure it was but it is red). I’ll move on once I get this confirmation. Thanks again

Broken skin is rarely if ever a risk for HIV or STIs, even if exposed to infected fluids. And simple redness is zero risk as well.---

Great, so no risk and I can move on? Is that correct? Thank you

Of course. That's the entire point of all my comments above.

That completes the two follow-up comments and replies included with each question and so ends this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful. It really should no longer be necessary to ask additional questions about sexual exposures that do not involved actual intercourse. Thanks for your understanding.

Best wishes and stay safe.
