[Question #13996] Brief oral exposure

About 9 days ago I had a brief oral (less than a minute) exposure with female CSW, stripper in VIP that got out of hand. This is CA, USA. I panicked, ordered Doxypep online and took 19 hours after exposure. No symptoms for the following week. Seven days after exposure, odd random , periodic but repeating sharp pain (mild) in right groin. The following day that moved to the penis. No other symptoms thus far, no discharge, pain during urination or visible blisters or sores. Could this be prodrome to HSV1 outbreak? Could it be NGU starting? The pain follow no real pattern, short "bursts" under a second, almost like a heartbeat in duration. I have also started to work out heavily, could it be a pinched / pressured sacral nerve? Could it be an issue with prostate? FWIW I'm in a 22 year otherwise monogamous relationship with a woman who is HSV1 positive (oral) so I figure I must have been exposed at some point as she has had breakouts, although I never have. Appreciate any guidance, I'm feeling the stress.

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions I'll be glad to comment. The symptoms you describe are not suggestive of genital herpes of any other STI both because of what you describe and the fact that STI symptoms, when present, do not come and go. This is not at all suggestive of genital herpes- if you were going to develop herpes, lesions would have appeared within a day or so after the onset of symptoms. Further, when persons develop newly acquired HSV, typical lesions occur within 10 days of an exposure and typically in fewer than 7 days.
I cannot comment of the origin of your symptoms but the are certainly not suggestive of prostate disease or a pinch nerve. If the pain continues, I'd suggest you discuss them with your doctor. I do not think you have a need to be stressed about a possible STI. EWH
