I was having sex with a girl who i hardly new but only know that she has slep around to get favours from customers as she works in the banking  sector. I was having sex i used a condom and i was getting it difficult to make my penis hard as i was not comfortable so i rub my penis she also rub it . The reason im telling you thia is beacuse since the condom has been touched by hand it might have caused it to tear. After a few minutes of trying i was able to ejaculate and i tied the condom in a not to lock the semen insided  after she left i check the condom properly and the semen was still inside no tearing happned at the tip of the condom it is only when i turn thw condom upised down that the semwn came out of the condomn. It might be that the condom did not tear at all during sex but only when i tie the know beacuse my nails were long as the tear was also near the know or who knows it might have tear during sex . Should i start Prep what should i do please advice.  

Welcome back to the Forum and thanks for your continuing confidence in our service.  I'll be glad to comment.  Despite that your partner has had other casual partners, it is statistically unlikely that she had HIV or any other STI- few people do.  In addition, most single unprotected exposures to infected sex partners do not lead to transmission of infection.  Finally, there is no reason to worry that your condom failed.  When condoms break, they break wide open leaving no doubt that they failed.  Condoms do not leak "just a little".  Personally, I would probably not even both to test following this event and I certainly WOULD NOT start PEP.  your risk of HIV in virtually zero.  ---

After i had sex i took the condom out and tie a knot on the condom. After i check properly there was a small cut on the condom not on the tip as the semen was contained inside but near the knot. I think the tear might have happen when i tied the knot not when i was having sex beacuase it was a small cut on the condom and i also havnt cut my nails. As you have said when condoms tear they tear wide open not just a small cut ....do you think the tear happen after use and not during sex ?

I suspect that you damaged the condom while you were manipulating it after sex.  I would not worry.  One follow-up remaining.  EWH---
