[Question #14005] Herpes Question

Hello,
3 months ago I got into a new relationship with a man (I am female). We intended to get tested before we had sex without condoms but ended up not doing that. He’s only slept with his wife of 10 years, his ex girlfriend and me. Anyway for about 2 weeks we had sex 2 times a day (with condom). There may have been some genital to genital touching without the condom. I never gave him oral. There was usually some hard grinding when he had his underwear on for a few seconds here and there. He’d rub his penis really hard against my pubic none. I know I have hsv1 orally and I disclosed that to him. He’s never had a cold sore.
Anyway at the two week mark we have sex without a condom for the first time (I’m on my period) and after we were done he goes to pee and comes back freaking out a bit bc he has two small raised red bumps on his penis glans. They were close to eachother but not touching. I only got a glance. He goes home and we don’t have sex for a day or 2. The bumps slowly just fade away and are completely gone without a mark within 3 days. He had no other symptoms. That was 9 weeks ago and there have been no further incidents.
So obviously my question is could this be herpes? Especially an initial outbreak?
Thank you!

Herpes seems really unlikely to me as the cause for the two bumps. First, we rarely see herpes only on the head of the penis - far more commonly on the shaft. Second, herpes lesions would usually evolve into something else - they might develop into a blister, then ulcerate, then scab.
So if this was herpes, it seriously doubt it was, it is very unlikely to be a primary infection for him.
There is a reasonably good herpes test now available at LabCorp and you may wish to pursue that now with him to put your minds at rest. What do you think?

Thanks Terri! Just a couple of follow ups…
The bumps were red, raised and round a little smaller than the diameter of a pencil eraser I’d say. They just slowly went down. What were they? Mechanical/issue from all the sex? I just don’t know what else it could be.
Also would 3 days from when we saw it to when it was completely gone be too fast for herpes to resolve? I saw his penis 3 days later and it was as if nothing ever happened.
