Dear doctors,
Here is my situation. Two years ago I have sex with a CSW (protected vaginal and protected oral). After that I made several test. HIV 4th generation lab test at days 25, 45, 63, 84, 116 and finally 202 days and also Arn HIV test at day 25. I have been tested for sipbilis TPAh at day 25 and RPR at days 63 and 116. HBV negative at days 63 and 116. Urine PCR for clam, gono, tric, myco,... at day 12 (but it was two day after cipro, in hospital a doctor give me this because I have some pain, not discharge our burning), another PCR at day 63 (I urinated maybe one hour and a have before) and at 9 months I did another one just for Clamidia and Gono. Two Ets doctors in Spain told me after the tests at day 63 to dont worry and continue with my life.
But my wife has some syntoms and thats because I am asking for your opinion:
She has develop a rash , like urticaria, appears mainly in legs, torso, arms, ... and dissapear and then appear again in another place and its very itchy.  In the hospital said that maybe is a virical exanthema. Could be HIV or siphilis or another STI? Is that typical? Can I be the cause with my tests.

Bienvenido al foro. Gracias por su confianza en nuestros servicios.

You have seriously overreacted to this situation. Your two ETS specialists were exactly right. First, you had an exposure that had no realistic change of resulting in HIV, syphilis, or any other STI. There was no need to be tested for either syphilis or HIV. For reassurance, it was OK to be tested once for each infection, but not the multiple tests you had. Second, although the tests were not necessary, they prove with 100% certainty you did not have syphilis, HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc. Third, your wife's symptoms are NOT typical for any of these infections. I cannot comment on other possibilities, such as a viral exanthema. But certainly she does not have HIV or any STI.

No further testing is necessary. All is well.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you for reply, I know that my tests probe that I am not infected but she has never had any health problem before my stupid infidelity. She also has develop eyelid dermatitis (eczema) months ago and the dermatologist gave her tracolimus.  And now this rash, as I said in my first question is very heavy over the body (start in her legs, torso, arms, and know in the face, looks like hives (very itchy), Just to ease my mind

1. Can HiV rash be like that? Appearing in one leg and dissapearing after taking antihistaminics to appear a day after in another place like back or chest? She has also caught and mucus and two weeks ago has something like a canker sore in her lip after a day of fever.

2. Maybe secondary siphilis? I read about it, but she has nothing in the palm of hand and feet. But some bumps in the other side.
3. In the family we have repiratory syntoms our 6 years old kid had to take antibiotics due to otitis and flu. And know he continues with caught. I have a kind of flu.
4. Do you recommend me to take another full std panel just to be 100% sure. I am scared of having more test.

Thank you doctor
.

These additional questions show one of three possibilities:  1. You did not read my replies above. 2) You did not understand them. Or 3) you do not believe them. Which is it?

You must totally ignore your wife's symptoms in regard to HIV and syphilis. It is proved you have neither one and could not have infected her.

1. HIV rash has many appearances. They do not matter. Your wife does not have HIV.
2. She cannot have secondary syphilis, unless she has had other sex partners who infected her.
3. Irrelevant information.
4. No. You should not have any more tests.

Your  responses are irrational. You might need psychological care. Your thinking on all this is not normal. Buena suerte.

Discuss your wife's symptoms with her doctors. They have nothing to do with your sexual indiscretion two years ago.  If you ask any more such nonsense questions here, there will be no reply at all and the thread will be closed.

Sorry doctor if you feel that I am no believing your answers, I do believe but it's difficult when your brain makes you feel that are causing an illness to his couple. And the symptoms of some STI are very similar to other illness. I will ask you some obvious questions but maybe would help other people to enter in this forum.

1. Are you aware of HIV and syphilis false negatives with the combinations of test that I made?

2. Regarding urine STI, can gonorrea, clamidia, trich, ... affect the skin of the body (like trunk and face rash, hives,...)?

3. Can cipro and maybe the time since previous urination, affect a lot the result of urine PCR? In that case after two years, can I stay asymptomatic ?

4. Last one, can you acquire Herpes 2, without obvious outbreake? Can you have it in your lips and not in your genitals?

Thank you very much for your kindness and comprehension.

Of course many symptoms overlap between HIV or syphilis, other STIs, and many other illnesses. That is why symptoms should be Ignored entirely and worried persons should depend only on test results

1. No I am not. It never happens.

2. These STIs cause no skin symptoms.

3. Antibiotics do not make infections asymptomatic except by curing them.

4. Yes, many cases of HSV2 cause o obvious symptoms. Almost always genital, almost never oral. This fact is irrelevant to your situation and your wife's illness.

You came here for our expertise and have chosen to ignore it. I cannot help that fact. But do your best to move on without further worry. If you continue to be fearful about these issues, professional counseling is advised. Your thinking on all this is not normal.

That completes the two follow-up comments and replies included with each question and so ends this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful. Best wishes and stay safe.
