Hi Doctor,
Exposure 01 (07 May 26): Insertive oral sex (no condom) with a masseuse
Exposure 02 (09 May 26): Insertive oral sex (no condom) and protected vaginal sex (With condom) with a escort. The escort fingered herself prior to giving the oral sex (She might have some vaginal fluids on her hand when giving oral sex and putting on the condom for me)

Escort from exposure 02 tested for HIV (4th Generation) on 12 May 26 and tested negative.

It has been 6 days since exposure 2 and 8 days since exposure 1. I am worried about HIV and any other STDs. No discharge from penis but as of 13 May i have been feeling unwell (Slight fever, body ache and sore throat).

Thanks doctor.

Welcome to our forum. Thank you for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment.

These were low risk encounters.  Most commercial sex workers do not HIV or other STI‘s and most single exposures to infected partners do not result in transmission of infection. Further, there are no proven cases of HIV acquired from receipt of oral sex, and your vaginal exposure was condom protected. Finally, in terms of HIV, it is a bit too early for these to be symptoms of recently acquired HIV. Regarding other STIs, the absence of other symptoms further makes this a low risk event.

I would not be concerned, however if you wish for the reassurance that negative tests will provide a urine test for the most common STI’s acquired from oral sex, gonorrhea, and occasionally chlamydia, will be conclusive at this time.

Your symptoms are nonspecific and could be due to any number of common, every day non-STI viral illnesses of the sort we all get from time to time. I hope this information is helpful. I would not be worried. EWH.

Hi doctor. Thanks for the reply.

I will get the urine test done. Will it be conclusive if I do it now? It will be day 07 tomorrow.

Also, have you seen or heard of anybody get HIV from unprotected oral sex?

Does the escort (unprotected oral and protected vaginal) testing negative for HIV on the third day on a 4th gen test mean anything?

Still having  slight fever and sore throat. Do you think I need to get tested for HIV?

Thanks doctor

Yes, results of a urine test will be conclusive at this time.

As I said above, "There are no proven cases of HIV acquired from receipt of oral sex."  That answer will not change when you repeat your questions.

The CSW's negative blood test provides further assurance that your encounter did not put you at risk for HIV.

As I also said, there is NO medical reason to test for HIV.  If you choose to test that is your choice.  the result will confirm what I have already told you.

One follow-up remaining.  EWH
