[Question #14057] Question About STI Risk From a Recent Encounter

Hello,

I recently had an encounter and would appreciate your assessment of the STI risk involved.

I was at a massage parlor, and during the encounter I inserted my index finger into the woman's vagina to stimulate her while she manually stimulated me. Shortly afterward, I used the same hand/finger to finish masturbating myself. I believe there may have been vaginal secretions on my finger at the time.

As soon as I realized what I had done, I removed that finger from contact with myself. To the best of my knowledge, I did not directly touch the tip/opening of my penis with the finger that had vaginal secretions on it.

Based on this exposure, would you consider there to be any meaningful risk of HIV or other STIs? Would you recommend any testing, and if so, what tests and at what time intervals?

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Welcome to the forum. I'm happy to reply

Fingering and other sorts of hand-genital contact are entirely free of risk for HIV and other STIs -- or such low risk that few or no STI/HIV specialists ever have seen an infected patient whose only possible exposure was fingering. That includes people who then had self contact, such as masturbating, finger in mouth, etc.

Therefore I definitely would NOT "consider there to be any meaningful risk of HIV or other STIs. No, I do not advise any testing of any kind.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.
