Hello Doctor,
Hope you are doing well.

Informing you ahead, I had another account however I am unable to access it for some reason, have to create a new account.

I wanted to discuss with you the event where I want your advice to assess my hiv risk,

A week back, I saw a masseuse she gave me an oral sex, which i read about is no risk however I am still concerned over it.

Yesterday, I went to same masseuse and she had a little prick on her finger which slightly bled when I saw her( she informed  me it was from a lancet she used for some test),  After 15 mins from the last I saw blood she started giving me hand job which I stopped after few mins.  As I remembers she had bled from the same finger, not sure It was still bleeding.

What is my HIV RISK from this incident,  I went to ER and got PEP by 36 hours from the incident, Today I had my first dose.

I am seeking your advice, Also I am trying to reach her to ask if she can take HIV Test, If I am able to convince her which test should I ask her to take.

Thank you.

Welcome back to the Forum although I'm disappointed that you continue to worry about low risk events.  Taking PEP was a mistake- even in the unlikely event that she has HIV, there would be no risk to you through contact with blood, if present.  There is no need for concern and from a scientific perspective, no reason for testing.

if she can be tested, I anticipate that the test will be negative providing further evidence that there is no need for PEP.

You are worrying entirely too much about low risk exposures.  Please understand that HIV is only transmitted through unprotected penetrative genital or anal sexual contact with an untreated infected person or through injection of infected material  EWH

Hi Doctor, I am unable to understand your message clearly, Would you please explain on below:
1 - HIV is most infectious from blood, my exposure - finger prick blood , 15 mins gap and hand job is no real risk? Genital is mucous membrane and urethra is direct to bloodstream
2 - Finger prick blood contact vs medical blood exposure , how they are different risk? PEP is given in medical setting.
3- How long HIV survive outside body once exposed to air,  as infectious, less than 15 mins?
4- how long finger prick blood takes to clot, less than 15 mis?
thanks
