[Question #14111] Recurring Rash

Hello Doctor,

I have had a recurring rash on my penile area for the past six months. My urologist ordered a full STD panel, which was negative, and prescribed nystatin/triamcinolone ointment. The rash clears within 3–4 days of use but returns 1–2 days after I stop.

I was then referred to a dermatologist, who performed two biopsies and felt it was likely eczema. I was prescribed clobetasol and later halobetasol, but the same pattern occurred—the rash resolved during treatment and recurred shortly after stopping. I was ultimately advised to continue using nystatin/triamcinolone, but the problem persists.

What would you recommend as the next step? Could this still be an STD despite the negative testing, or are there other conditions that should be considered?

Thank you.
