[Question #1416] hiv risk or other stds

Hello, last Thursday I engaged in condom protected vaginal sex with a woman I know somewhat. During foreplay she sat on my exposed penis with her underwear on but she was humid and I had what you could call a sore about an in up from the base of my penis. The sore came days prior from shaving and it cause an ingrown hair which I ad been poking at. After minutes of this I put on a condom a had sex with her for about 10 minutes and I remember precisely checking the condom a few times during sex since I am a bit paranoid and married as well. I remember she pulled of the condom and gave me a handjob since she finished before me. My main concerns are could vaginal fluids on her hand or from when she was on top of me cause hiv or some other infection on the exposed sore? and my second concern is I don't know if it is anxiety or from checking myself so often but I have this urge to urinate all the time, it's not really that it stings or anything, just this warm sensation of wanting to pee all the time. I was a bit under the influence of alcohol but sober enough to remember the condom stayed on the whole time because I made her check it in front of me. Could this be a UTI, std or just anxiety from obsessing over this day and night. this was last thursday. Thanks!

Welcome to our forum. I'll be glad to comment. The risk from the exposure that you described is extraordinarily low. If there was no unprotected unprotected penetrative sex there was no risk for HIV. Even if she was HIV infected, which from your description is unlikely, HIV is not spread or transmitted through clothing., Even if the material is wet with genital secretions.
Further, urinary frequency is not a symptom of any STI. On the other hand it is commonly present and persons who are anxious and worried about possible infection.
From your descriptions, my advice is not to worry about this exposure. Nothing you have said suggests any need for testing for HIV or any concerns regarding STI.
I hope my comments are helpful to you. If there are additional questions please feel free to ask. EWH

Exposure of your penile sore to vaginal secretions (particularly through her underwear, damp or not) is not a risk for STI. Further, such lesions (folliculitis) typical swell and get more tender before they get worse. Finally, urinary frequency and urgency are not typical STI symptoms but are common with anxiety. Try not to let your guilt and anxiety get the best of you. EWH---
