Dear Dr's,
I took the HIV TMA RNA test from Quest Labs 10 days and 3-4 hours after my (no risk) encounter with the stripper. It came back negative. This was the test:
They also did a standard 4th gen test which was negative.
I was so relieved to get a negative result as I was feeling very tired and anxious in the days leading up to the test and I thought I was completely in the clear. Today is exactly 4 weeks since exposure. I took a 4th gen test at my doctors office on day 26 - still waiting for a result but now I am starting to stress again. I feel myself getting sick once more. Also lots of mouth sores inside my lower lip although I do bite my lip and cheek, I have not had a fever once. I am just wondering for the last time if I could get some reassurance that I have no risk and there is no chance I acquired HIV. I understand you said no testing is required. Is the RNA test 100% conclusive at 10 days. I am waiting anxiously for the 4th gen test - would that be conclusive or did I go too early?
I am really sorry to annoy you, I have come a long way with my anxieties and could really use one last response from you to put this behind me. There is no chance it is HIV correct?
All the very best and I promise this is the last time you will hear from me.

Doctor so sorry just last thing. It's been exactly 4 weeks and today I feel run down like the flu is coming. Any chance of symptoms at day 28. I know you said no testing necessary. Just wondering if 10000% I can put this behind me. Anxiously waiting the 4th gen results.. They will for sure be negative right? And is everything conclusive? Rna test conclusive?

Larry. Get a grip on yourself. No less that Albert Einstein said "One definition of insanity is to do the same thing again and again and expect different results." The same goes for the recommendations you have gotten from both Dr. Handsfield and me and our confidence that:
1. You did not need to be tested in the first place.
2. You repeated negative tests are reliable and should be believed.
3. You do not need further testing. Your results are conclusive.
I hope this helps. Please focus on how to address your anxiety. EWH

Just to confirm you saw the rna test was at 10 days. In general are rna tests like the one I took reliable in that time frame? Thank you Doctor. All the best

Dr H,
So I can be 1000% certain that the 4th gen test will come back negative. I do not have to worry about it all weekend and for sure do not need any more testing. Finally just out of curiosity - is the RNA test truly conclusive at 10 days? Or is it conclusive because I did not need any testing.
Thank you
Larry

My only concern is that I am getting sick right now today is literally 4 weeks since the event with the stripper. I feel super run down and feel all warm and red and might be coming down with a fever. Regardless doctor you are positive this can not be HIV. Even if I come down with severe flu like illness today/tomorrow? Simply no chance correct? I think I can calm down now.

I am just so upset about this Dr. What are the chances that I go for a test on day 26 and then on day 28 I get sick. Is there any way on day 28 it could be anything related to my fears. You are completely confident that it is impossible correct? The RNA test is very sensitive. Sorry for so many messages. Please leave my thread open for one last message after your next response. Thank you kindly.

Repetitive and redundant questions will not change the answer. The tests are conclusive for you. Nothing more to say. Closing this thread. Opening new threads will only lead to them being closed without comment. EWH

Doctor, could you please just address my one concern that I have come down with some sort of flu symptoms on day 28 and they continue today. There is no chance it is what I am worried about correct? Thank you so much. No need for any more testing the rna test was sufficient.

OMG Doctor - I just realized that I took the 4th gen test on day 24-25. Does this change your assessment in any way? Thank you so much. Still waiting on those results. I can be sure any symptoms are not what I fear?

The RNA test was definitely at 10 full days however. I took the 4th gen test Tuesday afternoon and 28 days would have been today. (Friday)
