Dear Dr. I had an intercourse with an escort 7 months a go..It last only 2 minutes. I used condom but I'm not sure I have safe sex because of the condom. So inthese term I have several Anti Hiv 1/2+P24 antigen and Anti Hiv 1/2 test after 35,67,88,112,120,130,150,180,189 and 204 after exposure. All result were negative..I'd like to ask I'm totally free from Hıv or need re-test until for example one or two year. My negative result can turn to positive after 7 months is it possbile...Can I have sex with my wife without any fear...Thanks..

Welcome to our Forum. I will be glad to comment. Statistically, most commercial sex workers do not have HIV and even when they do, even unprotected intercourse leads to infection only about once in every 2000 sex acts. Further, condoms remain the best mechanism for preventing acquisition of infection.
Your testing history PROVES that you were not infected by the encounter you have described. It is simple not possible for a combination HIV antigen/antibody test to become positive six months, or even six months after an exposure. You can be confident that you did not get HIV from your encounter over 200 days ago and do not need further testing. In fact, from a medical perspective, further testing is a waste of time and money.
I hope these comments are helpful to you. EWH

Dear Dr. I get psychological support and use depression drugs. I am afraid that the negative result will be positive. Could you guarantee me that my negative result will not return. Can I completely dismiss HIV fear. Thanks dr...As you know my last test was nearly 7 months after exposure.

Neither the need for psychological support or therapy, nor taking drugs used for depression have any effect on tests for HIV. Believe your test results- there is no reason for further testing. EWH

Your current, repeated test for HIV clearly show that you have not acquired HIV and I encourage you to dismiss your fear of HIV.
As you know, our Forum permits up to a total of three replies to questions- this is my 3rd reply. Please note that the forum
does not permit repeated anxiety driven questions by the same users. This will
have to be your last one; future new questions on this topic will be deleted
without reply and without refund of your posting fee. This policy is based on
compassion, not criticism, and is designed to reduce temptations to keep paying
for questions with obvious answers; because experience shows that continued
answers tends to simply prolong such anxieties, when the real answer normally
should be professional counseling which you are pursuing (good job); and because such questions have little
educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. I trust
you will understand.
