Hello  doctor hook first I must tell you something I have been diagnosed with OCD and I have accepted it . My physician has helped me a lot and said nothing to worry about HIV or hepatitis once it leaves the host on objects or surface  I have improved drastically but I have one other question left . The problem with OCD is that sometimes the mind want to accept what a specific doctors say  in my mind that is you  dr hook if you say nothing to worry then I am free  . My physician said you must let the doctor hook know that you have OCD . Well he says doctors respect that . My physician referred me this website . I just have question for you only as my mind will accept you and your verbal style I have read many of your informations and I want to ask you a question Thanks

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your confidence in our site.  Our goal is to provide information to our clients which will help them.  I also congratulate you on acknowledging your OCD and on your apparent confidence and clear communications with your physician.  As you know from reading other posts on this site, we have great confidence in providing assurance that HIV and hepatitis viruses are NOT acquired through contact with inanimate objects or surfaces such as countertops, toilet seats or other objects that may be touched by many people on a daily basis.  This infections are simply not that easy to transmit.  I hope this information will be helpful to you.  EWH

Thank you dr Ed hook I messaged above just so that I could connect with you because of your verbal style and because of OCD my mind will accept what you say    I will post my specific concern to you now

I believe you are known for saying HIV or hepatitis any other infection do not happen from environment or objects I just have two questions which I will post now

My issue is on wetness on only two object contaminated band aid and condoms and if they are wet I think HIV or hepatitis is active

Summary

1 bandaids : I fear packed product such as a bandaid I fear the sticky material on the band aid and I think of it as HIV or hepatitis secretions which arnt dry (the sticky material on bandaid is actually glue which I am calling HIV or hepatitis fluids ) and fear it on applying it on my wound

2 condoms ; when I purchase a  packed condom  I open the condom it's  wet I begin to fear that HIV fluids or hepatitis fluids are on it . The condom is covered with lubricant but in my mind I think it's HIV or hepatitis bodily fluids or even a little of blood fear is for me and my future wife

I want to know on the above items even if someone to contaminate band aid and condoms that person would fail when I purchase it from the market I belong to underdeveloped country but I want you to answer by not saying who would do that but even if someone did that they would fail and I will move on with my life .

Explanation :

3) BANDAIDS: when I open a bandaid I see the sticky material I fear the HIV or hepatitis might be alive and some one rubbed hiv or hepatitis bodily fluids since they are not DRY . I basically fear the wetness or stickiness of the band aid . My physician said no neither hiv nor hepatitis will be alive when you purchase the bandaids because there are no cells to keep HIV or hepatitis alive they would be immediate be non infectious even if the band aid is sticky or moist do not worry about dryness

I have read you have said doctor ed hook that HIV or hep cannot be transmitted from person to person  on objects so if someone was to rub bodily fluids on band aid the TRANSFER itself would deactivate HIV and hepatitis? Virus even if it's sticky and not dry and I purchase the band aid from market .

Blood on band aid I'm sure will be visible but I fear the sticky material would be some HIV or hepatitis bodily fluid  and when I get a fresh wound I apply the band aid on my wound and might get HIV or hepatitis

4) Condoms :are always wet and not dry  when I purchase the sealed new packed condom if think it's contaminated with HIV or hepatitis bodily fluids I believe you have said the transfer itself would kill HIV and hepatitis. Once they have left body  my physician said just think the fluids on condom as dead or non infectious HIV or hepatitis bodily fluids

5)If someone injected HIV   hepatitis blood /  bodily fluids inside a condom packet which is sealed  and I opened the it won't matter as hiv or hepatitis would be non infectious . I believe you have said on medhelp which gave  me peace of mind is that you can  link  a tainted condom to mutual masturbation in which secretions  or blood are outside  the body so even if someone contaminated a condom you may link it to mutual masturbation  can I just think of it was mutual masturbation  even if they are secretions little blood  inside or outside the condom and apply it on my penis ?

I6) am not married I just want to know if Someone  was to contaminate a condom wether HIV or hepatitis or other stds blood /  fluids are inside of the condom or outside it won't matter and Assuming my future wife and me  are HIV or hepatitis negative we can't  get infected by tainted  condom . When I purchase the condom from local market ? I belive you said the mechanics of transferring HIV fluids or hepatitis into a condom  will deactivate the virus
 .
7) slight confusion how is tainted  condom or band aid be different to a contaminated syringe ?

8) do I have to fear wetness of condom or band aid as it's not dry ?

9)lastly when you say nobody gets HIV or hepatitis from environment can I count this as environment exposure and not worry about survival of HIV or hepatitis outside the body ?

My physician says think of the bandaid as dead bodily fluids on them there non infectious becase there are no cells to keep HIV or hepatitis alive which are only found in human body   and think the condom also as dead bodily fluids on condom and wetness alone does not Keep HIV or hepatitis alive . My fear  was basically wetness or stickiness of band aids .

I am almost done with OCD only this is left I hope you understood the question  this is the only question I have troubled you with please tell me how one would fail with your own explanation . YOUR WORDS are powerful

Your answer is far longer than allowed on this site where we limit questions to 1500 characters than this site permits.  Please re-state your questions BRIEFLY and I will do my best to answer them.  No need to define terms- If a term is unclear you will be asked.  EWH

Please assume if Some was to rub HIV hepatitis fluids on bandaids or inject fluids into condom HIV or hepatitis and  pack them  and I purchased them in market I am from underdeveloped country  they would fail and I won't get infected HIV or hepatitis or other std I fear the wetness of band aid and condoms  because I thought HIV hepatitis die when they dry out . I was told that no HIV hepatitis would be non infectious even if wet on bandaids or condoms  as they won't have human body to survive

1)Purchased a new bandaid from market  The sticky material on band aid is glue which I think of as HIV or hep bodily fluid . And it's wet not dry  I think I'll get infected

and when I get a fresh wound I apply the band aid on my  fresh wound and might get HIV or hepatitis

Blood I think would be visible but the sticky material looks like bodily fluids

2) Condoms :are always wet and not dry  there are lubcricants on the condom but in my mind  when I purchase the  new packed condom if think it's contaminated with HIV or hepatitis bodily fluids  and not lubricants . I fear the wetness and my physician said just think of it as nonifectous HIV or hepatitis fluids .

              3) someone injected HIV   hepatitis blood /  bodily fluids inside a condom packet which is sealed  and I opened the it won't matter as hiv or hepatitis would be non infectious . 5slight confusion how is tainted  condom or band aid be different to a contaminated syringe

6)lHIV or hepatitis from environment don't happy   can I count this as environment exposure and not worry about survival of HIV or hepatitis outside the body ?

 Please give your own thoughts

The idea that someone would wet a band aid or place infected material into a condom before it was sold is simply not realistic.  We cannot support this sort of paranoia on the Forum.  There are NO indications that HIV has EVER been transmitted in the way you suggest and this is not something to worry about.  In answer to your specific questions:

1.  New band aids do not carry HIV, hepatitis or other infections.  The sticky adhesive material on them would almost certainly not permit survival of the viruses as this material contains solvents which would kill the viruses.

2.  I agree with your physician.  There is no evidence that condoms have been contaminated with infectious material before sale.

3.  This is simply implausible.  Even if it were, these viruses become non-infectious over time.  In the time after a condom was packaged, HIV or hepatitis virus would die.

4.  Correct. This is explained above.

5.  Persons become infected with contaminated syringes which injected soon after the syringe was used on an infected person by carrying blood and fluid directly into the person the needle is shared with.  There are no other materials or chemical and the blood is protected from the environment by being inside of the syringe.

6.  Correct

You have now posted three times and received three replies.  This thread should be closed now however I will provide a single reply to a BRIEF follow-up question if clarification is needed.  Otherwise this thread will be closed shortly.

Please note that the forum does not permit repeated anxiety driven questions by the same users. This will have to be your last one; future new questions on this topic will be deleted without reply and without refund of your posting fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is designed to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers; because experience shows that continued answers tends to simply prolong such anxieties, when the real answer normally should be professional counseling; and because such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. I trust you will understand.  EWH

 Thank you for replying
1)the time after a condom was packaged, HIV or hepatitis virus would die  I am sure by hepatitis you mean heptatis b and c and other infections  correct ?

2) the time a bandaid would have been packed also HIV and hepatitis b c  would certainly die also ?

3)can I think of them as mutual masturbation like fluids that are outside the body so it doesn't matter what's on a band aid fluids had left the body

4)just like there is no evidence on condom I'll treat is mutual masturbation I don't want to change your answer

5) I want to know hiv or hepatitis (b ,c) or other infections  has never been received from band aids also ?

6finally just like you say once HIV and hepatitis b or c  have left the body can I just take these two exposures and treat them as contaiminated environment and conclude that no one gets infected from environment can I treat this as a contaiminated environment ? And let it go

7) your personal view also thanks you what would you suggest also thank you this cannot happen on band aids in condoms I have understood the answer and I don't want you to change the answer thank your final advice

Pleasure talking to you
