[Question #2414] sti exposure?

about 8 days ago i had an exposure at a strip club with 2 women who were licking my penis and scrotum, alternating, for about 5-10 minutes.  at one point, one of them began to insert my penis head into her mouth but i stopped her.   there was plenty of oral activity in terms of licking and sucking on my scrotum and shaft, but id there was any insertive oral it lasted 1-2 seconds and was the very top of my penis if at all.

i am concerned with gjonorrea and syphillis.

i've had herpes-1 for many years.   about 2-3 days ago while obsessively examining my genitals i discovered a pimple looking thing near the head of my scrotum.  it is noticeable but small ish and red and painless.  i did shave trim using an electric razor that area  around 3 days ago.

could this be syphillis?

i have 0.0 other symptoms of any kind.

should i be tested for ghonorrea?  can i resume sex with my wife?

i'm very convened.

thanks

Welcome to the Forum.  I'll be glad to comment on your risk related to this exposure.  Based on your comments, this was a very low risk event and you have little to worry about.  It is not clear to me, or apparently to you, whether or not one or both of these women actually placed your penis into their mouth.  If they did not, there is virtually no risk for STI at all.   If they did, the risk is still quite low.  Most commercial sex workers do not have STIs, when they do oral STIs are typically far less common than genital infections, and when infectious are present, most exposures do not lead to infection.  Further, the most common STIs acquired from receipt of oral sex are gonorrhea or NGU and these problems would typically be symptomatic by now.  If you wish, a urine test for gonorrhea could be performed at this time and would provide reliable results although, to be honest, your chance of infection is so very low that I personally do not feel it is needed.

As for Syphilis, syphilis is almost never acquired from oral sex and the lesion you describe sounds like a benign scrotal cyst ( these are common and usually go unnoticed) and not like Syphilis.

We're I you, I would not be worried about this exposure and see no medical need for testing.  I hope my perspective is helpful.  EWH

thank you for the reply.  it makes me feel much less anxious.

absent of any symptoms i'm no longer terribly concerned about ghonorrea.

regarding syphilis would the appearance of this pimple looking thing which is now quite noticeable to me and within 4-5 days of the exposure be too soon for a syphilis chancre to appear?

can i move on without concern for my wife's health -- we have not had sexual relations since the event 8 days ago.  would you say it is safe to resume normal relations?

thank you.

4-5 days is early for a syphilis lesions to appear.  When syphilis lesions appear, they quickly (in a day or two) become open sores.  I suspect the changes you describe in the lesion are likely to be due to your manipulation of it.  Alternatively, it may be a local abscess.  It does not sound like syphilis and your exposure was low risk for syphilis.  EWH

got it -- no, the pimple is definitely not an open. sore.

so in summary you don't think i need testing if any kind based on this exposure with now nine days without any symptoms and this pimple is not syphilis since it appeared to me five days ago and is not an open sore.  therefore i would not pose any STI risk to my wife based on this exposure.

  is that correct?

thanks again.

Your summary is correct  There is no reason for concern and no reason for testing.

As you probably know, we provide up to three respnses to questions from our clients.  This is your third response.  Therefore this thread will be closed later today.  EWH
