If someone has the herpes antibodies, are they contagious?

Yes, antibody equals infection and when a person has the infection, they are contagious to others, with and without symptoms. But the antibody test needs to be an IgG, not an IgM as the IgM is very poor and has many false positives, and the IgG value should be above 3.5 to be certain it is positive. And the test needs to be type specific, that is, it can sort out HSV 1 from HSV 2 accurately.
