hello doctors:

i have read on the san francisco city clinic site that the only risks for a man performing analingus on a woman are hep a and other gastrointestinal bacteria.   they don't list any other stds as a risk.

can you confirm this?

i've had hep a inoculations from travel abroad.

if i perform analingus on a  csw female is there any std risk?

thank you

Welcome to our forum. I will be glad to comment. There are no high-quality studies which describe the risks associated with analingus.  Analingus  is a biologically inefficient means of transmission of infection.    Chances are that your partners will not have anal infections. If they do however your risk of becoming infected it is very low and not something I would worry about.   I agree with the assessment of the S.F. City Clinic and see no need for concern or testing.

I hope this comment is helpful to you.  EWH

thank you.

i'm afraid 1.5 yrs ago to maybe 6 months ago i performed analingus on some csw's in the us i context of massage settings.

i never felt sick or had any symptoms of anything and i do have hsv from years ago.

if i understand the clinic and your opinion, from that activity alone i do not need worry about having normal relations with my wife and don't now need testing of any kind for any std or sti?

thank you.

Absolutely right.  If this was your only exposure there is no reason for concern and no reason for testing.  You can move forward in your normal marital activities without concerns about having acquired an STI from the exposure that you described.  EWH

one last question, since i have one more.

if a csw licked my anus for 2 minutes or so, is there any risk to me?

if i understand correctly, there should not be any, correct, especially syphilis?

i did see her tongue and mouth appeared to have no sores.

but is there any risk from receiving analingus in this way?

thank you

As you might imagine there are no specific studies of analingus and I am not aware of anyone who has ever gotten an STU, including HIV, from analingus.  I would not worry about STIs from receipt of analingus.  I hope that this comment is helpful.

As you point out and as per Forum guidelines, this thread will now be closed.  Take care.  EWH
