Hello
I just need to make sure i don't need any further testing. Protected vaginal with CSW for two minutes. Shortly after I had bumps on pubic area which I shave and doctor said it was folliculitis. Had a tiny circle on shaft for three weeks that was pink on color and was somewhat dry. Doctor said it was dermatitis from Condom since I don't use them with regular partner. I took a hsv2 igg test from lab Corp at 10 and 12 weeks and both were negative. Is this conclusive? The reason why I'm worrying is my regular partner is compaining of hip and shoulder pain. Is this related? She also said she had some pimples on her butt but I think she has always had them. Please give me some reassurance as this is my last post.

I think you have done all of the reasonable things to find out if you have herpes or not. In addition, good job for using condoms with intercourse with the CSW. You've had these seen by a professional and they diagnosed folliculitis and then another, dermatologist, said the spot was dermatitis. That's good enough for me. Also, herpes would not cause shoulder pain and probably not hip pain either.
In summary, I think that the testing that you have done is adequate, especially when reviewed in combination with two in-person clinician visits, indicating that any issues that you had are unrelated to herpes. Please consider yourself reassured!

Thanks Terri
Since I was diagnosed with folliculitis, I still have small purple scars on my pubic area. Is that common? Herpes wouldn't leave dark marks correct? Also, would some sort of bacteria cause herpes symptoms like folliculitis or pimples on buttocks. I am on Bactrim for acne. Hope that wouldn't mess with test results at 12 weeks.

Herpes normally does not leave scars, no. Sometimes if people have severe outbreaks on the buttocks, we do see scarring. Bacteria cause their own symptoms and they can look like little pimples, I'm, confused by your question.
Bactrim would not impact herpes testing, no

Thanks Terri. Always appreciate your advice. I think I can put this behind me and mark this test up as conclusive. I was just worried because after I tooo my test, my wife said her hip was sore and she had some pimples on her buttocks. I just keep worrying because people say the igg at 12 weeks is 97% accurate or something.

While the HSV 2 IgG test is not perfect, as you have read, we need to take many things into consideration when looking at this situation, not only test results - the use of the condom, the lack of genital herpes symptoms, the visits to doctors who said it isn't herpes, and finally the testing that is negative. I know you have been worrying about this, but I honestly think that this is the time to put it behind you now. I surely do hope that you can.
