My husband of 5 years and i had sex. He had bad cold sore i did kiss him and gave him oral sex followed by sex now I am positive I have herpes. Is this even possible?

His sore was open. I have never had a cold sore. I am baffled. Help please

So you believe that you now have genital or oral herpes? Cold sores are caused generally speaking by HSV 1. If he was the giver of oral sex to you, then he could transfer virus from his mouth to your genital or his mouth to your mouth through kissing. If he only has HSV 1 orally, then intercourse alone would not transfer this virus to you. What makes you think that you have herpes? Have you been seen by a clinician?

Yes i tested positive. I am one that gave him oral. And now he has genital herpes. How can this be

She nurse said this is something that could have been dormant for years. Im frightened so much what thisbwill do to our relationship

So wait - he has a history of cold sores, you gave him oral sex and he got genital herpes? There's something not quite fitting about that.
Could he perhaps have HSV 2 genitally that has been present for years? Were the genital lesions swab tested? If positive, were they typed, HSV 1 or HSV 2?
It may be that the cold sore he had and the genital lesions that he developed were completely unrelated to each other.
