grandchild was visiting overnite--during the night I got up to go to restroom--I saw that granddaughter had fallen on floor and I went to pick her up before washing my hands which was a mistake because I had an outbreak of genital herpes and I didn't use as much toilet tissue as I usually do.  Try.ing to get her up on the couch as carefully as I could, she grabbed my right hand and kissed my fingers.  Now I am so worried I may have passed this virus to her.  Her mom is pregnant and ready to deliver.  I hope I haven't caused any harm to the family.  Also, I worry about all the times when I have kissed the children when I don't have visible mouth herpes and accidentaly may have gotten near their eyes.  Thank you for your time.  Sincerely, Patricia Johnson

oh dear, please don't worry yourself about this situation - there is zero risk of infecting your grandchild in this situation.  You have not caused harm to your familytel  I know this is scary for you but your genital herpes is absolutely not a risk to them at all.  It's all OK
