[Question #2634] Sweaty privates

Hello -  I have excessive sweating under my scrotum. It often feels tingly and sometimes burning in the region.  I see no sores or signs of inflammation.  Sometimes, if I'm sitting still I forget about it and it doesn't bother me.  There's no question that the sweating is real in the area under my scrotum.  Is this an STD symptom?

No discharge or pain in any way, just sweating.

I have unprotected oral with sex worker 2 months ago and protected vagina 45 days ago.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to the Forum.  There are no STIs for which excessive scrotal swelling is a symptom.  Awareness of scrotal sweating could represent simply heightened awareness of your genitals as you look for possible STI symptoms or could reflect something lese like a clothing change but it certainly is not a STI symptom.

In the absence of symptoms and since you used a condom for your vaginal exposure to a CSW makes STIs unlikely.  At the same time we do suggest annual evaluation for STIs using a urine test for men who have had multiple sexual partners over that time.  This recommendation is based on the fact that some STIs may be asymptomatic with the goal of assuring your sexual health.

I hope my comments are helpful.  EWH
