Dear Doctors, few months ago I fingered a woman who had her period, when I noticed my finger with blood I wased it with soap and water.  After that I masturbated myself, alone, is there any possible risk for ant STI in this scenario?

This is a no risk event.  Your contact falls into the general category of masturbation.  The skin of the hands and fingers is very resistant to infection.  If your partner had syphilis or herpes there is a TINY, THEORETICAL change that your finger might become infected with one of these diseases however this is extraordinarily rare. There is no risk at all for more common STIs like gonorrhea, chlamydia or trichomonas.  Further I am not aware of ANY reports of persons acquiring HIV through this sort of contact.  further, there is no risk to you of becoming infected as the result of masturbating yourself after you had touched her bloody vaginal secretions.  I would not be at all concerned about this contact and see no need for testing .  EWH
