[Question #2736] FOLLOW UP [Question #2481] HIV RISK?

Hello Doctors,
Unfortunately I have returned.
Following up my previous question Question # 2481:
Unfortunately I can not overcome this difficult situation and I have continued to do 4Gen tests. ARCHITECT HIV Ag / Ab Combo at 75, 90, 128 days after expocision, all are NO REACTIVE.

I want to ask you some additional questions:
I have Psoriasis as a child, the disease affects only my skin and very little, almost nothing and I do not take medication to control it. Can this disease affect the results of my HIV tests because it is an autoimmune disease?

Is it necessary to repeat a test at 6 months?

Can I trust my results 100%?

There are even cases of late seroconversion after 6 weeks if we talk about the 4 generation ARCHITECT HIV Ag / Ab Combo tests?

What security can give me that the woman who performed unprotected oral sex has ARCHITECT HIV Ag / Ab Combo 60 days after our expocision, she agreed to go with me and perform in a reliable laboratory and is NOT REACTIVE.

Can I continue my life and forget this?

I had unprotected sex with my wife and I feel that has affected me more because my feeling of guilt and the fear of infecting her is killing me, she has had many headaches in the last few days. I feel very depressed, tired, I had sinusitis, neck pain and I associate everything with HIV. This has changed my life. please help!!! I want to be happy again.

Dr. Edward W. Hook M .. has helped me a lot. but if possible I would like to hear the opinion of Dr. H. Hunter Handsfield, MD. this only to hear 2 opinions from different experts.

Regards and apologies for returning.

Welcome back to the forum. There is no need to apologize for returning, but I am sorry you found it necessary. Your questions really have already been answered in your discussion with Dr. Hook. Therefore, my replies this time are brief. If you remain concerned, I would suggest you re-read your previous thread.

Psoriasis has no effect on risk of HIV or in testing for it.

As Dr. Hook said, your tests already were conclusive and you can trust them 100%. You do not need additional testing at 6 months or any other time.

With the 4th generation tests, including Architect, there is no such thing as seroconversion delayed beyond 6 weeks and certainly not 6 months.

The combination of your partner's and your own test results PROVE she did not have HIV and that you were not infected.

You can continue with your life and forget this.

All we can do is provide the scientific evidence and our best judgment. It is your responsibility, not ours, to use that information to address your anxiety of these issues. Your symptoms are not typical for an HIV infection -- but even if they were, the test results always overrule all symptoms. Do your best to separate your emotional reaction to a sexual decision you regret from the medical consequences of that decision. They aren't the same. If you continue to feel depressed, sanxious, etc and if you continue to find yourself worried that every symptom could be HIV, you should seek professional counseling. I suggest it from compassion, not criticism.

I hope these comments help you move on, but let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you very much for answering. I feel better with your answers! I trust and I will go forward because everything is well. after all the good things I must remember that my risk for (unprotected fellatio) is virtually zero as you say in other discussions and there are no proven cases. Best regards

Dear Doctor,
Until now I have abstained from having sex with unknown women but unfortunately yesterday after a few beers we went with a friend to a table dance in Costa Rica Centro America. a woman will perform a dance and touch her breasts and her vagina. (did not insert my fingers at any time) was only superficial. my question is: I have a lot of allergies and I usually touch my nose and these days I had a small cut on the inside of my nose that bleeds. If I unconsciously after touching the dancer's vagina touches the inside of my nose, am I at risk for HIV? I understand this should not be a risk but I want your opinion

You cannot catch HIV without having sex with an infected person, i.e. penis inside vagina or rectum. The virus is never transmitted by touching or by fingering or other hand-genital contact. You can touch her vagina as much as you like, and then your nose or anywhere else on your body. You will not catch HIV.

Please note the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This being your second, it will have to be your last; future new questions about this kind of exposure, testing, and your fears about HIV or other STDs will be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is designed to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thank you for your understanding.
