Welcome back to the forum, but I'm sorry to see you found it necessary. I would advise you to re-read our previous discussion 3 weeks ago, in which I explained how low your risk was for catching HIV.

As a 3rd generation rapid blood test, Qualpro should be 100% reliable any time 6 weeks or more after the last possible exposure, so your negative result probably is conclusive. However, I am unfamiliar with the particuelar test and cannot personally vouch for it. But even if it were "only" 99% conclusive, when combined with the low risk of your exposure, you can safely consider it definitive. If I were in your circumstances, I would not hesitate to continue unprotected sex with my wife witn no worry about possible infecting her.

I mean that the Proqual test is not used in any clinics or labs that I have used, so I have no personal experience with patients who have used. If Qualpro indeed is a third generation (i.e. combinted antigen-antibody) test, your negative result at 7 weeks should be conclusive. You did not catch HIV and no additional testing is needed.

It is written in brochures that "QUALPRO HIV,is a rapid 3rd generation, qualitative, sandwich immunoassay for simultaneous and differential detection of total antibodies I.e IGG,IGM,IGA ETC
Utilizes principle of immunochromatography,a unique two site immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane.Highly purified antigens gp41,gp120 and p24-o fusion polypeptide, representing hiv-1 and hiv-2 group O and synthetic peptide gp36 representing hiv-2 are stripped on membrane as two separate bands....is it not 3rd generation and if 2nd generation...then your opinion regarding conclusiveness of test

The package insert and brochures are accurate:  QualPro is a third generation test. It is conclusive any time 6 weeks or more after the last exposure.

That completes the two follow-up comments and replies included with each question and so concludes this forum. Please note the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This being your second, it will have to be your last; future new questions about this exposure, testing, and HIV risk will be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is designed to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thank you for your understanding.
