[Question #2789] HPV symptoms

Hello,
I recently had protected vaginal and partially protected oral sex with a new partner. I feel that one part of the urethra is slightly convex(towards the inside) on my penis head surface. Is it normal? I am uncircumsized, but when I stretch the foreskin skin back with force, I feel that the convex part of the opening on my penis head opens up more that the other. Is it possible that I have contracted urethral warts? So far I have not had any difficulty urinating or pain. W I did try paying attention to my urine stream and haven't been able to come to any conclusion based on that- sometimes I feel it's uniform but sometimes I feel it's sort of spread.
What are the symptoms for benign urethral warts and how fast can urethral warts form after the exposure? Is it possible to get urethral warts after protected sex too?

Welcome back to the Forum.  I can't help but note that this is your 6th visit in less than a month.  After reading your earlier interactions with Terri, as well as reading these questions, it is my sense that you are overly anxious about the exposure you have described.  Your perceived change in the appearance of your urethra is not suggestive of an STI of any sort.  It is (past) time for you to put your fears about having acquired an STI aside an move forward without concern.  There is nothing in this post or your multiple prior posts with Terri to suggest that you have an STI.

As a point of information which has NO relevance to your concerns, HPV infections do not cause sensations or symptoms and it typically takes several months for warts to appear, thus  any change in the appearance to your penis would not be related to HPV (or any other STI).

I urge you to put your concerns aside and move on. There is no evidence you got an STI from the exposure you have described.  EWH

Thank you so much Dr. Hook, especially for taking the time to read through my earlier posts as well. Your post definitely has provided me reassurance. I have never observed my genital area, so closely in my life, and observing anything these days makes me question things. I will take your advice and try to remain calm and more focused on my work.
I have been observing slight pain accompanied with a weird feeling(as if my heartbeat spikes up) in my penis(doesn't last for more than 10 to 15 s). I have felt it around 3 times in past 3 days. Is it suggestive of an STI ?

Hello Dr. Hook,
I am observing pain in my testicles when I press them, and feel something weird around my penis as well. I observed intermittent abdominal pain as well. Today during the day. I had observed pain on my penile shaft for around a minute, especially when I moved my left thigh in a certain direction. The nerve on right side of my scrotum was also twitching for a minute.  Please let me know your thoughts on this. Can this be related to Herpes or other STI like HPV? I am not able to sleep due to worry and this uneasy feeling around my penis.

Each of the symptoms you describe in your last two posts are not at all suggestive or typical of sexually transmitted infections.  They are far more consistent with anxiety and related to that excessive focus on the genitals and genital area looking for possible symptoms or signs of infection. When persons to this what day typically see our normal variations and irregularities that they have not  noticed in the past.   Once again, there is no evidence of STI here. On the other hand what is evident is extreme Exide he and perhaps guilt. Anxiety and guilt or problems best addressed through a professional counselor. Nothing you have said suggest to need for additional testing for therapy.   EWH---

I apologize.  I just re-read this reply and it contained several typos.  The corrected reply is below:

Thank you so much for your prompt response Dr. Hook. Reading your reply early morning helped me catch some uninterrupted sleep in the morning.
You are correct about the guilt and anxiety, I haven't felt so low in my life.  Whenever I feel any pain or fever, I immediately start thinking about the possibility of Herpes. Do you think that I can disregard the random pains I have observed in my leg, and headaches (observed twice maybe), low fever (2-3 days) and twitches (happened on-off few times), and pay attention to the fact that NAAT swab was negative and move on? I want to start planning for a stable future, but these concerns are holding me back.

Rather than continuing your unwarranted fears,  you need to think about how many experts have told you that you do not have an STI and are not at risk.  Then think about your negative tests.  Then, finally, think about how many times your symptoms have not progressed.  Please disregard your random symptoms..

This completes this thread.  In addition, I must warn you that further anxiety-driven questions will be deleted without comment.  If you cannot keep your concerns under control, I recommend seeking professional counseling, not further questions on this site.  Further questions of the sort you keep asking are of no help to you and of no benefit to others who come to our site to learn.  I say this out of concern for you.  EWH
