[Question #2816] Reoccurrence?

Hello again,
I am sorry to be continually coming back, however I have have a couple more questions.
I have found a bump on the right of the outer labia. I thought it was an ingrown hair and gave hot compresses and tweezed it. Today it appears to have gotten a hard skin surface.
Is this possible to be a wart? Would I really have warts come back after 2.5 years with problems? It is also in a completely different spot than the original "suspected" warts.
Please help!
Thanks

Welcome back to the Forum. I,appreciate your faith in our service and advice. Before I comment on your specific question, please let me suggest that you do what I just did which is to go back and review your earlier questions and exchanges with us over the past nearly two years. Both Dr. Handsfield and I have indicated our skepticism as to whether or not you ever actually had warts and have indicated that if you did, your response to Aldara suggests that the problem is behind you. My sense however is that you continue to self-examine and to worry that you acquired HPV . Given that the genital tract is prone to development of cysts and cyst-like structures, I can assure you that if you repeatly examine yourself, you will find things (cysts, skin tags, etc) that you may not have noticed I te past. This sort of worrying and repeated self-examination is really not in your best interest. i say this purely out of concern for you.
For a wart to recur this long after treatment, particularly in a different spot is most unlikely. I suspect that this is something else. Your manipulation with the tweezers may have traumatized things, causing the lesion, whatever it is, to swell. It certainly does not sound like a wart or any other STI.
I hope my assessments and comment are helpful to you. EWH
