[Question #2840] [Question #2814] Further HSV follow up

Hi Terri,

I recently had an exposure where the lady pushed her buttocks against my penis 2-3 times, and then rubbed my penis between her breasts for 2 minutes or so.
I observed a lesion close to the end of my penis head on the left side 3 days after the exposure. Also there was a small whitehead around my frenulum which disappeared a day later. I am uncircumcised. The end of my penis head is blue and hurts when poked- can Herpes cause this?  The lesion looked like a little red bruise or open wound , and in the morning looked little wet which got me worried about Herpes. I went to the doctor the same morning to get it swabbed. The lesion doesn't hurt when poked. I am still awaiting the results. But I am observing really bad pain in my right foot when I walk more than 50 feet, and also pain in my upper back, since yesterday (4 days after exposure). Both my eyes hurt when I push them with my fingers. I did not have fever, other symptoms were pain in my left leg  and frequent urination on the same day as the exposure.
I am worried that she somehow rubbed her anus or vagina against my penis.

Hi Terri,

Wanted to mention that my right foot pain happens when I walk for more than 50 feet. It's not there when am sitting. My upper back pain also feels like burning pain.

You have a huge mix of symptoms in various parts of your body and that really isn't how herpes appears. Herpes would stay in an area covered by a pair of boxer shorts and sometimes people have pain down the back of the leg just prior to during an outbreak. Herpes also does not clock cause of blue penis head. Herpes would not cause foot pain when walking a long distance. It would also not caused upper back pain.If the contact that you had was only with the buttocks and not with a vagina for the anus your contact does not represent a risk for acquiring genital herpes. Also, rubbing your penis between her breasts does not present a risk for acquiring genital herpes. I will be very interested in hearing the outcome of the swab test. Do you know if the swap test was a culture or a PCR? Do you know this person well enough to ask them to be tested for herpes?

Thank you so much for the response, Terri.

The swab was a Solana NAAT test and it came back negative. My PCP told me that it might have been caused by friction itself. I also have a bad yeast infection going on right now. I had also gotten it swabbed at another GP the next day, the results are awaited for that.

My upper back pain did not happen today, my PCP advised me to take Tums since she thought that my stress and anxiety was causing gas? I believe that issue is resolved. Now I have a stiff neck, especially on the right side and I have been concerned after reading online forums that HSV can cause neck/upper back/shoulder pain. My right foot pain is still there, my PCP wasn't able to suggest a diagnosis and has asked me to wait it out for a few days.
I am also facing consistent Tinnitus in my right ear and occasional pain at the back of my head on the right side, and apparently people have linked it to HSV as well. I am worried that most of my symptoms are on the right side of my body, and people say that the virus normally affects one side of your body?

Negative swab makes me feel better, but am concerned about these things:

a. All the symptoms started 4-5 days after exposure. I know stress can be very powerful, but it seems all too coincidental to me
b. I see that there is a similar wound around the frenulum as well, which I did not get swabbed. I am worried if that was the actual Herpetic site which I missed. Now it seems that it's already started healing, I don't see any crust formation though, it's just less red now.
c. The blue colored area  still hurts, but I also think that it is most likely trauma from the rubbing, due to a bad angle or something during the rubbing episode. I also see  red inflammed skin right above the blue periphery, should I be concerned about that ? Can Herpes cause a ring of red rash around the head?

I asked her if she has ever had lesions, she said no very confidently. But am unable to ask her to get tested, and worried if she rubbed her anus or vagina against my penis accidentally.

Sorry Terri, one more question - can a Herpes infection cause left leg pain and frequent urination within 6-7  hours of the exposure?

Hi Terri,

I am really sorry for adding multiple comments, I will purchase another question.
I am very scared since am having occasional back pain and also I felt pain in my left buttock today. I feel a slight cold as well. And the tinnitus is constant. I am worried if Herpes has somehow affected the ear nerve which has caused Tinnitus.
The lesion around the end of my penis head is almost healed now, but the one behind my frenulum (which I did not get swabbed), is completely dry but still not healed. It is still red and I feel it's a little depressed which is scaring me more. Will getting it NAAT swabbed today be of any help? It is almost 4-5 days after it appeared I think and it's dry now. I am worried that it would have been the part of my penis facing her buttocks so it's likely that it was the site on infection.

Also, I see some a raised area on the right side of my glans- it is not a lesion but just like a swollen bump on my penis glans.  I had seen something similar 5 days ago but it was gone in couple of days. Now it's back again. Can Herpes cause this kind of swollen areas on the penis glans?

I apologize for sounding so incoherent. Please help.
