[Question #2996] Herpies - follow up on case #2983

Hi Terri,

Since yesterday I have had some discomfort on the tip of my penis. I am hoping that this is completely in my head as you comfirmed that if I had contracted hsv2 via the abrasion on my stomach, any symptoms would NOT be in or on my genitals but around the abrasion. Is this 100% the case. My abrasion has now disappeared so I should be able to relax.

I know I had can unrealistic chance of transition in the first place but this discomfort has got me second guessing. My testicles also appear a little red but no blusters.

Please put my irrational mind at rest.

If you are having discomfort at the tip of your penis, I do not believe it is from you contract herpes on your belly. This pain should likely be evaluated by a clinician.

Thank you for your response. Just to confirm, if in the unlikely event I did contract herpies from my abrasion ( I understand the risks explained by yourself) the symptoms would be at the source of transmission and not in the genitile area. My abrasion is now healed and gone and this would be very comforting to know.

That's correct, they would be at the site of the contact.
