[Question #3003] Hsv2 concern #2983

Hi Terri,

I would not have got back in touch had it not been for some discomfort and itching in my anus region around day 8/9 after my unrealistic exposure.

I totally understand if you do not reply but should be ever so grateful if you did.

You said I can move on if there were no symptom after 10 days. I assume this meant blisters or sore around my abrasion which is only 1 inch above my waist line.

1. Is it st all possible I could be getting symptoms in my anus region from hsv2 or to put it bluntly, am I being foolish.

2. The abrasion was 1 inch above my waist line, does this make a difference about the symptoms not being in my boxer short region and only around the abrasion should transmission have occurred.

Again, I should be most grateful if you did respond so I can put this behind me. I would not have written this if I had not got this extra information.

Many thanks.

I have no idea if you had herpes before this incident.  Do you know that?
There are many reasons for anal itching - herpes is one of them - but I really just don't think your exposure would result in herpes.
Where outbreaks would show up would depend upon your individual nerve patterns, but if the abrasion was 1" above the waist, I would expect to see lesions only in that nerve group which  would not normally be genital anyway

Thank you for your response.

I definitely did not have hsv 2 before. I do have hsv 1 and had an outbreak last week which is clearing up now.

It is definitely about an inch above my waist line near my hip.

The anal inching has stopping but I now have aching I my buttocks for the last few days.  It feels like it's coming from my tail bone. It's not severe but it's there nearly all the time. I am examining every spot, mark or feeling at the moment.

1. The abrasion was small and happened 12 hours earlier. Would this have provided enough healing time for protection from infection.?

2. Would a lesion be obvious? What should I look for?

3. The more I think about my exposure and your advice the more I relax, but I can't get past the aching feeling. I have read this is a symptom.  If this feeling is a symptom would you expect lesions to follow.

4.  Could this all be anxiety?

Thank you.

Yes, the lesion would be obvious.  and Yes, herpes lesions do itch but you are not reporting any lesions.  And I totally think you are anxious about this - anal itching might not have meant anything to you previously.  In my opinion, you really worrying way too much about this.  If you had acquired herpes in this situation at that location, I believe the lesions would appear at the site of the abrasion

Thank you.

There are no lesions at the abrasion site. It has al be gone.

In your vast experience have you ever seen herpes transmitted in this way?

Finally, would my abrasion provided enough protection after 12 hours healing. It was small and I understand your body starts healing straight away.

I thank you for your patience and applaud you good work.

Have a good weekend.

Sorry I have one small pimple on my waist line just above my pubic region. 6  inches away from abrasion.  No itching.
