[Question #3230] Three men and oral sex

Hi Doctors. I was in a let’s say sex club the other day. There was guy A performing oral sex on guy B. I didn’t see all what they did because I went around. Few minutes later return and guy A was alone. He gave me oral sex without protection and then I penetrated him analy with protection. Now, if I assumed guy B is HIV+ and he ejaculated in guy A mouth and guy A had rest of semen on his mouth. Could I get infected through my uretra? I know I was at risk of other STI which I will get tested as I responsibly do every six months. I also know that saliva does not transmit hiv and I don’t think anyone has got hiv by receiving oral sex. I am more worried for the possible presence of guy B cum. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. Your question is one of those "what if" questions that describes what is almost certainly a no risk event. "...lets say...."- really! And are you suggesting that the person who performed oral sex did not swallow so he could expose you?, just how likely do you think that might be? Obviously, while we do our best to provide answers based on carefully conducted, high quality scientific studies and clinical trail, quite obviously the scenario you describe has never been studied. So, instead let's thing this through:
1. How likely is it that that either person A or person B is HIV infected- not very.
2. How likely is it that person A swallowed- very.
3. How likely that, if B was infected, there was residual HIV in his throat which might have infected you- not very.
4. Has ANYONE EVER gotten infected through receipt of oral sex- no.
Thus, should you worry - no.
Should you test for HIV- no need.
I hope this information is helpful to you. I would not be worried about HIV from the receipt of oral sex you describe. I do agree with your plan to get tested for far more common bacterial STIs- gonorrhea and chlamydia.
