[Question #3315] blood on toilet paper

I´m back and I´m sorry that I have to...

I´m a female and I live in brazil, so excuse my english.

This morning, I was peeing and when I went to clean myself I noticed AFTER that there was a  bit of blood on the toilet paper. I´m almost certain It was not from me since it was very red ...it seemed like from a cut...it was not like menstrual blood...anyway I´m not on my period..

I suspect my brother used the toilet paper and didn´t notice that his hand was cut or something like that....he´s male and very promiscuous, I´m sorry to say...

So now I´m very disturbed...do I need pep?

Because I put it inside my vagina when I cleaned....I only notice After that there was blood...

Thanks.

I forgot to say that the blood was fresh enough that I was able to spread it along the paper to check ...

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be glad to comment.  To summarize my conclusion first, this was a no risk event with no meaningful risk for HIV or hepatitis.  I see no reason for testing related to the situation that you describe.  Having said that, let me mention the reasons:

1.   First, if the blood was fresh enough to spread and it appeared after you had gone to the bathroom, if it was blood, it was most likely yours.  In the time it takes to go to the bathroom it would be unlikely for blood to still be able to be spread.
2.  If it was your brothers, blood, despite his multiple sex partners, he is statistically unlikely to have HIV or hepatitis.
3.  Even if he had hepatitis or HIV, the viruses would have stuck to the paper and not be transferrable to your through incidental contact/wiping.
4.  there are no cases of HIV which have been documented to have been transferred by transfer from a person to an inanimate object like toilet paper and then on to another person to cause infection- none.

Given all of these facts, I really would not worry and see not need for testing.  you might ask your brother if he had cut himself and if so, to be more careful but otherwise I would not worry and see no reason for testing.  I hope that this comment is helpful.  EWH
