[Question #3326] Herpes follow up question

Hi Terri,
I had a few more questions for clarity regarding our conversation from last week.
1. I definitely would like your help to obtain the Western Blot test if you could ?
2. I too, wish I didn't have to open up this can of worms by getting the HSV 1 test. But, not one of the 4 doctors I saw could tell me why the entire head of my penis tingled for an entire week straight, nor could they explain why my scrotum or around my anus burned. No one could explain why my hands, lower back,  thigh and feet tingled and burned and still haven't other than trying to convince me that it all psychosomatic. I desperately wanted to believe it too and tried to for 2 months but with little success. So, I felt like I had no other options left.
3. You mentioned in your final response to my last post that "HSV1 is a non medical issue" for me and doesn't change anything between me and my wife. Is the reason that you're saying it a non issue is because basically if I've I have HSV1 and have had it for years now without knowing it, she most likely  has it too and it doesn't matter at this point? ( I'm apprehensive to be intimate with her do to my uncertainty)
4. You also mentioned that doing nothing would be the reasonable thing to do and I agree. However, do I need medications for this? Are the symptoms I listed above associated with me possibly bring HSV 1 positive? And if so, it was really quite painful and I would like prevent it from happening again if possible. I could use some direction regarding this?
5. Realistically, what should I be expecting. Cold sores? outbreaks on my genitals? If I've had this already for the past 20 years without knowing it will I experience absolutely nothing at all?
Note: I understand that some of these questions you don't have the answer to and no one does. I 'm just looking for a little guidance.
Thank you very much

1. Yes.  Go to westoverheights.com, on the home page is a link for video conference.  Use that to sign up for the video conference which we need to have before I can order the test for you. The conference takes about 20 minutes and I'll go over everything with you about how to do this.  Your task will be finding a place that will draw and spin your blood.  We'll take more about that later but just start thinking about that.
2.  I know it is tempting to go to the answer of herpes for tingling and burning but there are certainly other things that can cause that - pelvic floor dysfunction, prostate issues, back nerve and disc issues, hyperobservation.
3.  Yes, that's what I meant by that.  Even if she doesn't have HSV 1, she's been exposed (I am assuming) many times over the year either by you kissing her or giving her oral sex, right?  I guess what I meant is that it is not a new medical issue between you.
4.  I do not believe that the symptoms that you describe above are related to old herpes - what is the likelihood that you have this genitally from long ago and just NOW it is starting to cause you all these problems?  Continually?  Nope
5.  To identify the location of your old herpes infection, just be aware of any sores or lesions in the oral (lip, nares, chin) or genital (buttocks, anus, penis) and have them evaluated if you wish.

Just so you know, 70% of those infected with HSV 1, identified by blood test, don't recognize symptoms associated with this infection.  You are definitely not alone.

Thanks Terri,
I will contract you tomorrow to set a video conference appointment for the Western blot test.
I'm still having a hard time trying process all this in my mind. I was a perfectly normal, healthy 48 year old man up until I received that massage parlor hand masturbation 2 plus months ago. And my body hasn't felt right ever since. Yesterday I didn't have any burning in my right thigh, today I do? Today I have a burning sensation in my right wrist all under the skin, like its my nerve ending. When do or how do I start to feel normal once again. This has been going for over months.
I've never had any so called out breaks ever.
Maybe we can talk more about it during the conference call?
thanks

Yes, we certainly can.  I hear that you haven't felt normal since but that doesn't translate to herpes, right?  And herpes wouldn't cause burning in your wrist - it's a genital or oral infection, not a wrist one.

You are absolutely right on all accounts it’s not a wrist thing and I’m pretty sure it’s not a burning right thigh thing either?  I just wish I could get a few good days of feeling physically normal under my belt so that I can start to put all of this behind me and move on with my life.  I’m not sure where I need to turn to achieve this?
I schedule an appointment with you for Tuesday at 2:40. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to call you or you will call me?  But I look forward to speaking with you.
Thanks again for all your help.

Terri,
I’m must say I’m very disappointed I waited around for our appointment at 2:40 today and to my surprise somehow I failed to login at your website which I looked and didn’t see anywhere to login. I thought the evist app was where I need to be. And on top of that I receive a text telling my number is valid. What is wrong with just calling someone? You can keep the $80! Never again!

I'm so sorry you had difficult with the evisit app.  I had 12 patients that day and you were the only one that reported difficulty.  I thought you had simply forgotten your appointment.  And yes, the evisit app was where you needed to be, not on our website.  You were not charged anything at all. I charge for visits as they end and since I never saw you, you were most definitely not charged anything I would be happy to try to work with you to get this situation fixed.  I'm so sorry for the difficult.
