[Question #3420] HIV giving a female cunnilingus

I’m a female who got drunk and went down on a female for like 20-30 mins. She said don’t have anything but i don’t know for sure.i did stick my tongue in her hole for like 20 secs and went back to the clit Like 2 days after my throat started hurting I’m paranoid my nose stuffy but no full cold.  Then my sore throat went away nose was just stuffy on one side then when I slept with the fan on it came back.  I haven’t had no fever or nothing.  My lymph nodes are not swollen my ear hurts a little like by my jaw on the bottom. And I’m   Swallowing continually. Do you think it’s allergies or do I need to get tested ? That’s all that went on please help

Welcome to our forum. I'll be glad to comment. The event that you describe was very low risk for sexually transmitted infections. Women who have sex with other women, in general, have lower rates of all STI & AIDS then women who have sex with men.  In addition, cunnilingus, is a very low risk activity for acquisition of STI's. Theoretically such activities could lead to infection with gonorrhea or chlamydia of the throat however these are very rare events.   When these infections occur in the throat they are typically asymptomatic. It is unlikely that your current sore throat symptoms and swollen glands are related to any STI acquired from the event that you describe.   The decision regarding STI testing is for you to make. In my opinion, it is very unlikely that you are infected  but if it gives you peace of mind to test you should do it. Testing is easy to do. . Should you choose to test, the most important tests for you to have our throat test for gonorrhea and chlamydia.

I hope my comments are helpful to you. If there are further questions or anything I have said is unclear please feel free to use your follow up questions. EWH.

17 days is too soon for an Oraquick test to provide accurate information but from a medical perspective, you really do not need testing.  I would not worry if I were you.  Your ear symptoms are likely unrelated to the event you describe above - allergies could cause them.  EWH
