[Question #3477] Hpv from handjob

Good day doctors. I had recently enquired about hiv and other stds from a handjob with oil which resulted to a wound. From the advice of the doctors here i was assured it was a no risk situation.
After four weeks plus i develop a black mark on the penis head near the pee hole. It is no where near the place where the wound was. So i had visited a doctor about the black mark. He had said something about hpv and warts which really freaked me out. He said there is no need testing and should observe the dot/ mark.
Is it possible to get hpv/ herpes from a handjob with oil? She was fully clothed and she did not touch herself.

Welcome back to the Forum although I am disappointed both that you felt the need to return and that the health care provider whom you saw added to your unwarranted concerns about viral STIs just two days after our prior interaction. My assessment has not changed. In addition to the fact that hand to genital contact rarely, if ever, results in HPV transmission, warts typically take about three months to appear after they have been acquired and are rarely pigmented. Unfortunately, while warts are relatively common, the majority of skin lesions seen in the genital region are not warts and are not due to HPV. Many doctors however are not familiar with the spectrum of genital dermatological conditions and, as a result, tend to mention warts when they see genial lesions. I agree with the doctors advice that you received that there was no need for testing and no need for concern. Since you remain concerned however, my advice is to see a dermatologist to find out what this is. If it is a wart, which i sincerely doubt, I can tell you that the medical literature indicates that pigmented warts on other parts of the body (which are rare) are not typically caused by the types of HPV that cause genital infection. Thank you doctor. I was rather shocked when the doctor told me it was hpv or warts. He was the same one who told me that i needed to get a hiv test at the 6th week. That is why i prefer to get advice and guidance from the doctors available here.
So doctor. Just to reconfirm. From your vast experiance and knowledge is there any chance whatsoever to contract hvp or other sti from my encounter of just a handjob? I have never had any other sexual encounters.
I just cannot believe when the doctor told me hpv. At first it was hiv and now hpv.

Your summary is correct. there is no meaningful risk for HPV OR HIV from receipt of masturbation. I would suggest you consider getting a second opinion from another doctor- a dermatologist for the pigmented skin lesion. EWH

Thank you dr hook. I feel so much relived talking to you. Maybe i am just worried because i am planning to get engaged this April. The timing could not be any worse. I hope this would be my last post in this site.
So doctor can i proceed with the engagement without any worries from this encounter. Can i just move forward and forget about this handjob incident? This is the only risk i have ever had and it seems to be causing me many problems and stress. It became worse when i visited the doctor today.

Dear doctor. One last question. It is utterly impossible to develop hpv symptoms after 4 weeks plus right?
