[Question #3607] HERPES through underwear

HI DOCTOR.

I come from China. yesterday I made l massage.the lady tell me shi has reoccur oral herpes .And reoccur yesterday morning.She has some blister in her mouth and

nose. Then she touch her lips.And immediately touch my penis for about 10 sec.when i found out .I stop her. When it happend ,I wore underpants.BUT the fabric is thin. I am very nervous about this. SO I have some questions:

1 can herpes virus spread through underwear?

2I have already have oral herpes for some years since I was a child . will I be infected again?

today I consulted Chinese doctors, they say maybe...but I ask how can virus across the underwear,they can not explain it.So can doctor tell me can virus across through

the underwear?And should I have to get a blood test? Can I have sex with my wife without condom?

I have a few questions and I hope to answer one by one.

1Is it possible to infect genital herpes through this route?

2If she has oral herpes liquid in his hands, can herpes virus reach my skin pass through underwear and infect me?

3Should I have to do a blood test for this event?

4Will she leave her residue on my underwear, then I will contact his residue with my genitals and then infect herpes?

I am not at all concerned about her touching a cold sore and then touching your penis through the fabric, even if the fabric is think. And this is all especially true since you yourself have had oral herpes for years. Once a person gets HSV 1 in one location, it is extremely unlikely you would acquire it in a new location.
You do not need a blood test as you have not had new exposure of any kind and you already have the type of virus that she has so your test would surely be positive already.. Herpes does not go through underwear and it not transmitted through residue on underwear either

If the cold sore in her lips is hsv 2 not hsv 1. Can infect genital herpes through this route？Is it right that all std virus（especially herpes 1 or 2 and HPV) can not across through underwear even if the fabric is thin?

Cold sores are almost never caused by HSV 2. Herpes virus cannot pass through underwear.
