[Question #3635] Possible herpes inside urethra?

39 weeks ago, I received oral sex as well as regular sex. 2 days later I got a rash on my penile shaft diagnosed as balanitis. Went to other doctors and they all said it looked fine. Around October/ November (about  10-12 weeks) I saw a white spot in my urethra and a slight sting after ejaculation occasionally. All std tests (not tested for herpes) came back negative as well as a urine dip. White spot went away. I had a Cystoscope and the doctor said it looked fine. Since then my urethra has been really red varying on the day. Gets really red after showering and ejaculation. Occasional itch and sting. Pain in my sides every now and then. Does this sound like herpes? And may I post pictures?

Let me clarify a bit more. The original rash was inside my foreskin. The random sting and itch I'm referring to is felt just inside my urethra. It does not happen regularly. I have never experienced any discharge or a burning while urinating. And the pain in my side I am referring to is located around my kidneys.  I hope this gives the best possible picture of what I'm feeling.

Sorry, you can't post pictures here.  But thank you for your clarifications about your symptoms.  Redness in the urethra after showing and ejaculation sound nothing like herpes to me.    Could the rash beneath the foreskin be fungal (yeast?)  Is it itchy?  Have you tried any medicine on this rash?
Herpes most certainly does not cause pain in the side, near the kidneys.  Is the pain sharp?  Have you ever had a kidney stone?

The rash I had after the sexual encounter (39 weeks ago) was gone after about a week and a half. Since then the inside of my urethra right inside the tip has been red and has not gone away. At one point months ago there was a white spot inside that lasted for about a month. It occasionally stings but nothing too serious and it doesn't happen often. I have never had kidney stones and yes the pain in my side can be sharp at times.

I think it highly unlikely the area inside the urethra has anything to do with herpes, given it has been present for so long.  And I suspect if you had acquired herpes, and the rash was due to herpes, it would also have appeared on the outside of the foreskin.  If the sharp pain in your side continues,I would recommend that you make an appointment with your primary care provider to have it evaluated.
