[Question #3812] Should I be concerned, HSV

I’m a 29 year old male and I had unprotected intercourse with a woman over the weekend. We started with a condom and against better judgement ended up not using one the rest of the time. This isn’t typical behavior from me and I had the talk with her before we did anything over whether she was clean which she told me she was. I’ve never contracted an STD before and have been tested twice. I had been with the same girl for the last few years. I’ve gotten more and more concerned over the last couple days worrying that I could have contracted herpes. I’m not showing any symptoms at the moment. I had the same kind of fears the last two times I’ve been tested. I’m planning on being tested in two weeks for chlamydia and gonnorhea to be sure. What’s the likelihood that I could have contracted herpes from a one night stand? Should I be overly concerned?

The likelihood that you contracted for fees from a one weekend encounter poop poop is low. Is it possible for you to ask this person to get a herpes test? If she tested negative that might help to ease your fears. Without any symptoms within 2 to 10 days after the encounter, I think infection is unlikely. I do not think you should be overly concerned, no

Not sure on asking her to get a test herself. To be honest this has caused me some anxiety and I’ve been checking myself every couple of hours. I noticed a couple of red dots on the penis head this morning but no pain/itching. I want to say that I’ve seen these type of dots before. I had a blood test done a couple of years ago and everything came back negative. Do those red dots sound like anything to be concerned about?

The red dots do not concern me at all - zero.
I just looked back at my response and I have no idea where "poop poop" came from!  So odd.
I hear that it is causing you anxiety but small red dots are not a source of worry.  I'm quite sure you've probably had them before - most men do from time to time and they never had any meaning until now when you had this experience that concerned you.
Please observe for symptoms that are far different than this - blistering, discharge from the end of the penis, etc.
What you have so far is likely quite normal.

Thank you for the response. I did see this person 4 more times, 3 of which involved unprotected sex. I reaffirmed with her that she had been tested in December and she insisted I didn’t have anything to worry about. I still have anxiety over this. I haven’t had any symptoms. I have the aforementioned red dots that appear and disappear off and on in different places which I find myself overanalyzing. Additionally one night last week I had some redness on my penis with no pain or itching. If I don’t see any symptoms in the next week should I still be concerned?

This does not sound like herpes to me but the only way to know would be to test about 12 weeks after the encounter.  I do think you might be overanalyzing this.
