Hello Drs.

My exposure was about 14 weeks ago. Fully protected vaginal intercourse. This happened on a Friday. On Monday I noticed a tiny bump that with what seemed to be a scab on my penis foreskin. Dissapeared a few days later. I immediately thought the worst and went and got tested. both HSV 1-2 negative.  Unaware of window period. Anyway I continued to worry and obsessively inspected my shaft daily expecting to look for  bumps. its been 14 weeks and I ve haventy gotten another one.

What i did notice was some pimples/red bumps on my right and left buttocks. They have been there for 3 months now. They come and go. They never seem to go away completely.   They dont seem to look like the typical herpes fluid filled blisters.  If it wasn't for my anxiety I would've just thought they were folliculitis or some other skin condition. I am also pretty sure that these were there before my encounter. I just noticed them because of my increased awareness.

I did full STD panel not herpes and everything was negative at 6 weeks

My logic and research tell me herpes is unlikely, My anxiety tells me otherwise.

What are your thoughts on this?

Update** I went to see a dermatologist and he inspected my bumps in question on my buttocks. He told me that they were not herpatetic for sure and to sleep better at night.

If possible I would still like your opinion.

Hello Doctors.

Is my question being seen? I’ve seen all other questions being answered and I haven’t had an answer to my question.

Thanks

We answer questions within 2 days when possible.  You are within that time frame here.  Your question has been seen.
Everyone I've ever seen gets pimples on their buttocks from time to time - this does not concern me at all.
The fact that you had condom protected sex suggests that an STI is quite unlikely and you've had no symptoms that you are describing here that concern me at all.
It's good that your panel was negative at  6 weeks, and it is very likely to stay that way.
Please be reassured that nothing you have said makes me concerned that you have herpes.
