[Question #3936] Cut Hand at Work

Hello Doctors,
While carrying boxes through a door i accidentally cut my hand twice on a splash shield on the side of the sink which caused me to bleed. I was concerned i could catch something if someone else cut their hand the same way and if there was blood on it. I stupidly took the trash out and cleaned the bathrooms with this cut without gloves on. It was a hectic day. Am I at risk?

Welcome to the Forum. I'll be glad to comment. This was a no risk event. Even if there was infected material on the back splash that you cut yourself on, any STI ( including HIV) that might have been present would have been non-infectious. This would be the case even if the back splash had been recently contaminated. There is no reason for testing and no reason for concern.
