[Question #4017] HSV2 Transmission Concern

I met a woman who is visiting me soon for the first time.  We have had only an online relationship to this point.  She told me early-on she has HSV2.  I have HSV1.  But nothing else.  Due to our planned intimacy next week, she went onto Valtrex two weeks ago to get it into her system.  I am wondering what my chances of contracting HSV2 is with her in the following ways:

By me providing cunnilingus without a dental dam,
By my having intercourse with her without condoms,
and what are the longer term chances of transmission if we choose to have regular sex together, ongoing?

Is there a significant chance of contracting HSV2 by me giving her oral sex?  She has told me none of her former sexual partners have ever contracted HSV2 from her.  How worried should I be?  Thanks.

We do not have statistics about the risk of giving oral sex to someone with HSV 2 but I would say that the risk is quite low, especially since she is one antiviral medicine.
Assuming you have sex twice per week for a year, about 2 men in your situation would acquire HSV 2.  That is on antivirals and no condom use and no sex with symptoms.  You add condoms and the risk goes down to about 1%.  I think the chances are low of you becoming infected in this situation.
I assume that you have been tested to know that you are not infected?

Thank you. Yes, I have been tested for basically every STD. And while I do have HSV1, I don’t have anything else. Thank you. This makes me feel much better.
