Not sure if I can a post a link here, but here it is.https://www.stdcheck.com/blog/trichomoniasis-men/
Trichomoniasis is an STD that can affect men just like it affects women. Learn the symptoms, complications, and ways to protect yourself! www.stdcheck.com |
“Trich passes when protozoa come into contact with suitable living conditions. And while we wish we could say that the only suitable living conditions are in human reproductive organs, that’s not the case. Trichomonas Vaginalis can transfer onto nonliving surfaces such as towels, underwear, and soap. If these infected surfaces come into contact with a non-infected person, trich will transfer to that person. Nonliving surfaces that are vectors for transmitting diseases are called “fomites.” Because of fomites, trich is an STD that is often transmitted nonsexually. It’s important to bear this in mind; realize that even if you’re a virgin or in a monogamous relationship, you can still get trich! Trich can be obtained from public laundromats, gym towels, or even trying on swimsuits. These tricky protozoa can contaminate you even when you think you’re not at risk.”
This article was published on April 25, 2018. Her saying that it’s transmitted nonsexually often is completely wrong, right? Everything I’ve read is that it’s very rare for it to be transmitted nonsexually. Unless there’s a new study that I’m missing? Please let me know what you think. I’m a 28 year old male who was possible exposed to trich. My urine came back negative 2 months after possible exposure. Thank you.
