[Question #4089] HSP-2

I am a male who has been monogamous for 30 years. I went to a strip club 13 days ago and one of the dancers pulled my penis from my pants and began rubbing it on ther vaginal area. There was no penetration. She kept adjusting her g-string in a teasing manner. I am not sure if there was ever any direct contact with the head of my penis and her bare vagina. About 10 days ago I starting swing laps in the pool again (dealing with guilt of going to a strip club). My swimming trunks have a mesh liner and after several days in a row I noticed that I had burning pain on the tip of my penis. I have noticed about 4 days ago a series of small bumps on the head of my penis but have not noticed any blistering or lessions. When I leave them alone they do not burn, but when I examine them there is pain afterward. I have noticed some burning after I urinate. I have read on your blog that the type of activity I engaged in is low risk for STD's but I am worried sick about the small bumps and the burning pain for fear I have contracted HSV-2. I can't even imagine what the conversation with my wife will be like if that is the case. What is the likelihood of this being HSV-2 as opposed to irritation form the mesh in my swing trunks. Should I get tested? If so when?
Thank you

I seriously seriously doubt that you acquired herpes at this encounter. If there was direct contact, it doesn't sound like very long. Generally, herpes lesions do not appear on the head of the penis but rather on the shaft and they do appear as blisters. If herpes lesions were inside the urethra, the pain would be during urination. It could be irritation on the head of the penis from the swim trunks, yes, I suppose so. and yes, you could test with an IgG test but not until 12 weeks out.
