[Question #4164] Cunnilingus with escort, wisdom tooth extraction

Dear Doctors..

I’m worried about a brief cunnilingus I made on a Russian escort in Istanbul.. it was about 15 SECONDS only!
I had a wisdom tooth extraction 4 days before that exposure and there was an opening in it but I don’t remember that it was bleeding maybe a little .. my questions are

i.e this is my first sexual experiment.. and I was wearing a condom and it was intact..

1 do I need HIV Test? And why because maybe tgere is a slight chance?

2-  any other STI’s tests needed?

Excuse me my English isn’t good enough
And thanks

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be pleased to comment.  Before I do, a question for clarity- by cunnilingus do you mean the you performed oral sex on her, using your tongue to stimulate her vagina and genitals or do you perhaps mean fellatio in which she took your penis in her mouth (apparently with a condom on).  Or were there different sex acts, cunnilingus by you on her, fellatio by her on you, and perhaps penile vaginal sexual contact.  When I receive clarification I will comment further.

Even before I hear from you however, I should point out that most people do not have STIs and even when they do, most sexual exposures to infected partners do not result in infection.

I look forward to your clarification on what sort of exposure you have had.  EWH

I do cunnilingus not protected to her for about 15 seconds.. and she did fellatio to me and I was protected.. but she is a Russian escort in Istanbul and I think not registered .. she was clean..

I’ll be more specific.. I did a non protected cunnilingus on her for 15-20 SECONDS.. she did fellatio to me while I was wearing condom.. and I didn’t take off the condom tillI finish.. I think that she was a little dry I don’t remember

Thank you for the clarification.  This is helpful.   Different sexual acts have different risks for infection.  In addition, as I mentioned, most commercial sex workers do not have STIs.  Because of the sex act you performed (brief cunnilingus) and the low possibility that she had an STI, the chance that you acquired any STI is VERY low but not zero.  Oral STIs are often asymptomatic when they occur.  If I were you, I would not worry at all.  if you are worried or want to be completely sure that you did not acquire an infection from cunnilingus, you could seek testing with a throat swab for gonorrhea and chlamydia.

There is no meaningful risk for STI from your receipt of condom-protected fellatio.

I hope these comments are helpful. EWH

Thanks for your response Dr. Hook.. so there is no need for HIV testing as I understood from you even with my mouth ulcer before exposure.. I am sorry that’s my last question?

Correct.  No need for HIV testing.  There has never been a documented case of HIV acquired from performance of oral sex on an infected person.  You will not be the first.  The mouth ulcer does not change this.

As you note, this thread will be closed later today without further responses.  Take care and please don't worry.  EWH
