[Question #4196] Refer to question 4064 first, continued symptoms/update

Hello please refer to question 4064 , today is day 45, I went back to my GP for the irritated red blotchiness on the glans of penis, it feels as If the glans is over sensitive and tingly still maybe a super dull pain, almost unnoticeable and a strange general pinching feeling every so often throughout my crotch area (might not happen for a few days at a time), he kept saying it was a yeast and continue treatment and see a dermatologist, saw a dermatologist who said it might be irritant dermatitis and gave a steroid cream with no change. Could this be a rash that I've seen listed as a symptom of herpes on multiple websites? The right thigh muscle aches went away but For about the last 6-9 days I've been experiencing a tingling, restless deep dull like tingling feeling in my left leg down to my foot- really hard to describe but super annoying along with the same super annoying tingling feeling in the glans. Slight lower back tightness, Would symptoms of hsv cause any of this and linger for this long with no outbreak? It almost feels like its internal tingling in the urethra, fades in and out throughout the day. I can also almost feel that same sensation by my rectum and the spot between the rectum and scrotum. Not as intense, I dont have it right when I wake up because I'm not thinking about it right away. My skin on the glans is also wrinkled which it was smooth before and when erect it has tiny skin colored dots, like extra small dots of skin that used to not be there.its quite ugly now.. does not look like ppp at all. Dermatologist said it looked normal and not sure why i think it changed.. well it did. It changed severely. Is there any sort of symptom or sti that could cause that to happen? I did get tested around day 23 for hsv1 and 2 Igg that came back negaitve as it's too early to tell but at least I knew where to start. Last test is syphilis which in will do this Friday.

Thanks for your help!

No, symptoms of herpes would  not last this long  and the symptoms that you describe sound nothing at all like herpes to me.  And the whole tingling thing could be for many reasons unrelated to herpes.  I think if you need to you can do one more IgG test and then put this worry about herpes away - I think you will be negative.  And I don't know what might be making your skin on the glans look wrinkled but it is not an STI

Thanks for your response! Do you have any comment or suggestions on the tingling itself? I've read that a bacterial prostatitis infection could cause some of my initial symtoms and even some of these I'm having now, although I have not had a fever since the first 2 weeks- it would also make some sense since there was insertive rectal play but I'm not a doctor nor do I know if the prostate can get infected from the rectum- I have an appointment on September 10th with a GP for the tingling. As far as the skin on the glans, I know you focus in HSV but is there any form of HPV (not sure if Hpv is considered a STI) that would cause those symptoms on the glans? I just really want it to be normal looking.

The tingling is quite vague and I'm unsure what your doctor would do to diagnose the cause.  Yes, prostate infection could cause these types of symptoms perhaps. HPV would NOT cause these symptoms but rather wart like growths .

Thank you,

To what percent are IgG hsv test false negative for hsv1/2? Tested negative at day 27, Today is day 50 and I will do my final test after 90 days as that's what I've seen you recommend. My sipihilis test came back negative. I will spill all my concerns with my GP on the 10th at my appointment and hopefully get to the bottom of this. I did realize that I started using a different scent of soap (same brand) sometime either right before or right after my possible exposure. Starts to make sense as I saw redness on my tip and freaked out. Saw a few doctors and started trying a few different creams which all in all could have caused the wrinkled/irritated glans in the first place. If I remember correctly the redness was there first and started using lotrimin right before the wrinkles showed up. Possible I did this all to myself. I stopped using everything to see if it will clear on it's own or at least start with a clean slate. Thanks for all of your help!

The IgG, compared to the gold standard western blot, misses 30% of HSV 1 and 8% of HSV 2.
Hope your visit with you doc goes very well and that when you stop everything, the wrinkling goes away!
