Noticed symptoms after sexual encounter 6/13/18. Burning sensation only on left side of head of penis for 5 days. Tested negative for Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphillis (urine and rpr), hiv, hsv 1&2 IGM and IGG. Treated for chlamydia and symptoms immediately went away. 3 weeks later they returned after sexual encounter with same woman. This time accompanied with 2 flesh colored, painless bumps on shaft of penis. 35+ days and they have not changed. Raised red bumps appearing in pubic region for a day or two at a time with dried skin on top. No fluid inside. Multiple bumps coming and going, general redness in pubic area as well burning sensation under skin. Dried skin around bumps as they disappear. Treated for chlamydia again but did not help. Continued to get restested weekly out until 9 weeks since possible exposure. Tested 5 times all negative for everything. dermatologist looked at bumps on shaft says don't worry about them. Red bumps in pubic region have went away so can't biopsy but still feel burning sensation under skin and on head of penis. All day Every day. Now at 11 weeks. Doctors say it's not and STD but I'm not convinced. Parter has no symptoms. Other symptoms I've noticed which may or may not be related, my tailbone has been sore for weeks. I recently started to feel maybe kidney pain? No other symptoms. What should I do? What could this be?

Welcome to the Forum. I'll be glad to comment. You have been tested on multiple occasions for STIs. It is now time to believe those test results - at this time they are conclusive. You did not get an STI from the encounters you describe. The bumps you describe in your public region are most likely folliculitis which can come nd go in the way you describe and is not an STI. As for the burning sensation, I do not have a good explanation other than the possibility that you may be noticing normal sensations in this area because your are looking for symptoms are more closely than you might otherwise.
My advice is not put your concerns about STIs aside. If the problems are troubling you or getting worse, I would suggest you discuss this with your own doctor but I would not be concerned about an STI. I hope my comments will be helpful. EWH

Would Folliculitis cause burning sensation in the penis and / or bumps to appear on the shaft of the penis? I would believe Folliculitis if not for these other symptoms. Sometimes I can feel somewhat of a sharp sensation in my penis for a second or two as well. I have tried to forget about it, stay busy and not focus on it but it feels like something more. If not and STD I am lost what to do next to make it go away. Could I have been exposed to something else that isn't being tested for? Or what are the chances I could get continuous false negatives? My primary doctor says he doesn't know what else to do. He referred me to a dermatologist who said there wasn't anything he could do without visible red bumps to biopsy. Any other infections/diseases come to mind that could have these symptoms? This isn't normal. It's gotta be something.

i suspect your folliculitis and abnormal sensations are unrelated. The fact that when you are focused on other activities your discomfort is less noticeable does suggest that, at the very least, your focus on it is heightening the sensation. My advice is to address the folliculitis with the traditional approach, careful washing with a washcloth and not squeezing the lesions. The sensations will likely resolve on their own over time. This pattern is not suggestive of an STI however.. EWH
